Measure Twice. Build Once. 🔨🐾

Before you send us your pet’s measurements, please double-check them!

Every Davis Crate is custom-built using the measurements and information provided to us. Once construction begins, the crate is being built specifically for your pet.

Custom crates are a significant investment, and because they're made to order, completed custom crates are nonrefundable.

Before submitting your Crate Request Form:

✓ Measure your pet again
✓ Double-check A, B, C & D
✓ Make sure you're measuring from the correct points
✓ Confirm the numbers on your form match your measurements

If something doesn't look right or you're unsure how to take a measurement, ask us before submitting it! We'd much rather help you verify a measurement beforehand than have you discover an issue after your crate has been built.

📏 Measure twice. Build once. Travel with confidence. 🐾✈️

Tips for Measuring Your Pet 🐕📐

If you've ever tried holding a measuring tape next to a dog who suddenly decides standing still is impossible...this one's for you. 😂

Getting accurate measurements doesn't have to be a wrestling match! Try these tips:

🐾 Have your pet stand naturally on a flat, level surface. Don't measure while they're sitting or lying down.

👥 Grab a helper! One person can keep your pet standing naturally and looking forward while the other takes the measurements.

🥜 Bring out the treats! A favorite treat can help keep your pet standing still and focused—and a spoonful of peanut butter can do wonders!

✏️ Too squirmy for the measuring tape? Stand your pet next to a wall and use a pencil to lightly mark the measurement points on the wall. Once your pet moves away, you can measure between the marks without trying to juggle your pet AND a measuring tape!

👂 Pay special attention to ear position when measuring height. If your pet's ears naturally stand erect, measure to the tips of the ears.

📏 And most importantly—measure more than once! If you get different numbers, measure again before submitting your final measurements.

Keep our Pet Measurement Guide nearby so you know exactly where Measurements A, B, C & D should be taken.

What Measurements Do We Need? 🐶

Ready to measure your traveler? Grab a measuring tape and our Pet Measurement Guide!

We need four measurements:

🔵 A — Length: Tip of the nose to the base of the tail
🟢 B — Elbow Height: Ground to the elbow joint
🟣 C — Width: Across the widest part of your pet’s body
🔴 D — Height: Your pet’s natural standing height. For pets with erect ears, measure to the tips of the ears; otherwise, measure to the top of the head.

These measurements help us calculate the appropriate dimensions for your pet’s custom travel crate.

📸 Our measurement guide shows you exactly where each measurement should be taken.

✈️ Did You Know? 🐾

Your pet’s travel crate isn’t sized by weight alone! Your pet needs enough space to comfortably stand, turn around, and lie down—but those aren’t the only factors that determine the correct crate size.

📏 Accurate measurements matter! Even a small difference in measurements can affect the size and design of your pet’s custom travel crate.

Not sure where to start? Our Pet Measurement Guide walks you through exactly which measurements we need to help determine the appropriate crate size for your pet.

Measure carefully. Travel comfortably. 🐶✈️
