About to buy a used boat? Spend a little before you spend a lot.

I'll come look at it wherever it sits. Compression test, hour report, and a real look at the lower unit, the transom and the wiring.

I have watched people hand over $40,000 for a boat with a bad powerhead because it started up fine in the driveway. It always starts fine in the driveway.

The cheapest thing you will ever do for your outboard, and almost nobody does it right.

Flush after every trip. Every single one, even if you were only out an hour. Salt doesn't care how long you ran.

And run it long enough to get the thermostat open. If you shut it down after 90 seconds you just rinsed the muffs, not the motor.
