Carnival Cruisers: Your Loyalty Perks Have Changed
With Carnival Rewards officially replacing the VIFP Club, one of the questions longtime Carnival cruisers are asking is: “What happened to my perks?”
The answer is that Carnival loyalty benefits haven’t disappeared but some of them have been revised.
Platinum and Diamond guests will still receive the ship-specific Carnival pin, but the previous VIFP gift and Gold pin are no longer part of the program.
Carnival has also separated two different kinds of recognition:
⭐ Rewards status: Red, Gold, Platinum or Diamond is now determined by Status Qualifying Stars earned through eligible Carnival spending and activity.
🚢 Milestone recognition now celebrates your lifetime relationship with Carnival based on the number of days you’ve sailed.
There are also important protections for longtime cruisers. Guests who earned Diamond by August 31, 2026 can receive lifetime Carnival Rewards Diamond status after enrolling, while existing Platinum guests retain Platinum status through December 31, 2028 and receive a Star boost in future earning cycles.
So if you’ve cruised Carnival for years, don’t assume your old VIFP experience simply carried over unchanged.
Before your next Carnival cruise, take a few minutes to enroll in Carnival Rewards and check your current status and benefits.
And if you’re planning another Carnival vacation, I’m happy to help you sort through the ships, itineraries, cabins and what these new Carnival Rewards changes may mean for your trip.
