Hello, everyone! I realize that I haven't posted here in a while. However, I have some news to share. My wife and I just purchased our first home! We will no longer be living in Mesquite. We will be living in Kaufman County now. I will continue to provide my free services to my hometown of Mesquite, as my work schedule permits. I will just be expanding my service area into Kaufman County.

I had the pleasure of removing this huge Western Ratsnake from a storage shed next to a chicken coop in Wylie, TX yesterday on my way in to work. It had been feasting on baby chickens and eggs for a while before the property owner found it. I didn't have time to find a suitably close release location yesterday, so it will stay with me until my next day off work on Wednesday. Then it will go back into the wild nearby where it was found. This one is well over 4 feet long and almost as big around as my wrist. I have found that the larger this species gets, the more docile they generally are, and this one was no exception. It is a very calm and sweet snake. These are easily my favorites to handle in the wild.

Beautiful and super sweet, nonvenomous Western Ratsnake (Pantherophis obsoletus) that I just removed from a home here in Mesquite. Had to bring him to work with me. I'll release him tomorrow. I've found that the larger they get, the less likely they are to bite when handled.

Here are a couple photos I took this week of some beautiful, venomous Northern Cottonmouths (Agkistrodon piscivorous). Found here in Mesquite. Despite their false reputation of being aggressive, they are usually very calm and prefer to remain still and hope that you don't eat them. After handling nearly 200 of this species this Summer alone, I've not had a single one chase me or anything other than try to get away.
