A lot of people think what we do is so depressing and difficult. You really have to change your mentality about death to be in this business. We try to bring beauty and uplift people with our horses during some dark times in people's lives.

However, there are some funerals that absolutely break us Children funerals especially. Grieving parents, grandparents, and siblings will absolutely break you down to tears.

Today, we took a sweet 14 year old girl who succumbed to cancer. Cancer is the most awful thing, but for it to be so evil to attach itself to children is especially heinous. You just have to find peace in knowing she isn't suffering. She is free of her illness. And let me tell you, there were at least 300 people at her funeral. Speaks volumes of how well she was thought of and how many people she touched in her short life. Not a lot of people of prime age can draw that big of a crowd.

Fly high sweet girl. And make sure to sprinkle your angel dust on your family to let them know you're there. They miss you terribly.

Today is his birthday. His 17th birthday! The kindest, most sympathetic, caring kid I know. How he loves all his critters. Loves anything that runs on diesel. The bigger the engine the better.

All the stuff you see us accomplish...most of that is because of Iver. There is no way we could do all we do without him. He deserves just as much credit as George and I.

Today, for his birthday, he got his learner's permit. He didn't want to go anywhere to eat. Just some steaks and a carrot cake for desert. I think I can handle that.

Iver is the best thing I ever did in my life. I am so proud of him I could bust. My heart actually busts everytime I look at him.

Happy Birthday my love!! My tall Viking child. Please wish our handsome boy a very Happy Birthday.
