Houston Pilots Since 1921 we have piloted the port that built the city

The Houston Pilots Association provides pilotage services to all foreign flag vessels and American vessels under register (regulated vessels) entering or departing the Port of Houston, Harris County, Texas, as required by Texas state law. Pilotage is provided 24-hours per day, 365 days per year, in all weather and port conditions, unless closed for safety, for example, poor visibility, high winds, and storm warnings.

POV: You open my camera role. There’s a lot happening on these 52 miles. ⚓

The Houston Ship Channel is one of the busiest waterways in the nation, connecting the Port of Houston to the Gulf and supporting more than 200 public and private facilities along the waterway.

Every year, thousands of vessels make the journey — carrying the cargo, energy and materials that help keep our region and the nation moving.

And through it all, Houston Pilots are on the water 24/7, safely guiding vessels along the Ship Channel.
