Elements of Image I help busy professional women feel confident getting dressed—stylist, speaker, 20+ yrs, NBC’s 9News at 3. Oh! I can help!

Yes, you can have a polished wardrobe that’s interesting, easy to mix and match and has enough variety, so you’ve always got the right thing to wear, leaving you relaxed and ready for anything. And no matter what your body type or size, you can dress to flatter your figure. And you can feel great about how you look when you leave the house and even when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirro

r at the end of the day. And you can have all of this without spending every weekend at the mall or a fortune on clothes. And you absolutely can have stylish yet comfortable shoes! My name is Dana Lynch, and I’m Denver, Colorado’s top fashion consultant and personal stylist.

Nobody says this out loud…

…but your outdated blazer might be saying, “She’s stuck in 2014.”

And it’s true. Looking dated can cost you opportunities.

Because style sends a signal.

Are you current?
Are you paying attention?
Are you evolving along with your role?

When your wardrobe feels stuck in another era, people sometimes assume your thinking might be too.

Good news! Staying current doesn’t require a brand new closet.

It usually comes down to having a few key pieces that make getting dressed easy — and a few thoughtful updates each season.

That’s exactly why I’ve been writing seasonal trend reports for almost 20 years. I focus on wearable trends that actually work for professional women.

My **Spring Trend Report** is coming very soon.

In the meantime, I created a free checklist that covers the **5 must-have pieces every professional woman needs in her closet** — the foundation that makes everything else work.

Grab your checklist here: https://elementsofimage.com/5-must-have-pieces/

And I’m curious…

**What’s the one item in your closet that makes you think, “Yep… this might be past its prime”?**

I’m so so excited to have been featured in this new podcast by Kami Guildner!

It’s a compilation of several of her attendees of the Extraordinary Women Ignite conference, and our diverse voices (including me 😜,) touch base about topics, like:

• What leadership looks like when it’s rooted in inner knowing and lived experience

• How women are redefining visibility and self-expression on their own terms (This part's my fave, near and dear to my ❤️)

• Why embodiment, presence, and capacity are shaping how we lead and grow

• The real conversations influencing the next era of women’s business and impact

• The collective momentum that happens when women gather, speak, and rise together

Listen to the episode here: https://bit.ly/IgniteVoicesRising

My part starts at 24:28 min and I talk about the ease and confidence you have by loving everything in your closet.

Interviewed by Katie Brinkley thank you!!

And if you're interested in the Ignite conference, ask away. It was POWERFUL!!!

Stop Buying “Cute Tops.” (A Public Service Announcement.)

We were just getting started in my client’s closet last week when she looked at me and said,

“I have so many clothes… why don’t I feel like I have anything to wear?”

Spoiler alert: she had lots of clothes.
And a TON of tops!

Sounds like outfits, right?

She had cute tops…
…but just not enough of the “supporting players” to turn them into great looks.

🥿 Not enough shoes she actually wanted to wear.
👒 Not enough accessories to finish outfits.
👖🧥 Not enough variety in pants/jeans/jackets to feel put together.

So she kept wearing the same few things on a loop. Meanwhile, her “cute tops” just hung there…

If you want more outfits, buying another top usually isn’t the answer. (I know, I know...they're easy, quick and a lot of times inexpensive.)

The way to "more" and better outfits is building them completely.

And here's what you might not realize...The women who look “effortlessly put-together” aren’t buying more tops.

They’re building a system.

Quick question: Are you a “cute tops” collector too? 🎀
It's okay...no judgment here.

Comment TOPS and I’ll send you my “5 Must-Have Pieces (That Aren’t What You Think!)” checklist.
Psst… only one piece is a top. 😉

Red tee? Ripped jeans? If it doesn’t feel like you, it’s a costume.

I couldn’t help jumping on this trend. 😄

When I saw the prompt instructions (courtesy of Jones), it basically said: “Just change your name and what you want the t-shirt to say.”

Awesome… except the tee was red (I don't really wear red).

And the jeans were ripped (I can do a little distressing, but the big rips? I’m done).

So I tweaked the prompt and made it hot pink with dark denim.
Because if I’m going to “step into 2026,” I’m doing it in a way that actually looks like me.

And that’s the point: when your style is all over the place, it’s hard for people to recognize you.

Not because they’re judging....because their brains are busy. Consistency makes you easy to place, easy to remember, and honestly… just easier to get dressed.

This is exactly why I start every client with a Style Recipe,a system for what fits your body, lifestyle, and personality, so getting dressed gets easy and your look stays undeniably you (without being boring).

Want a simple starting point?
Comment with 5 Pieces and I'll send you my “5 Must-Have Pieces (That Aren’t What You Think!)” checklist.

It’ll help you build a consistent, current wardrobe—and I’ll show you how to choose your five so you won’t look like anyone else!

I’ve wanted to go to the Miracle pop-up bar at Union Station for a few years now… and it finally happened last night with my gal pals from the Alliance of Professional Women. So. much. fun. And how cute is the glassware?!

I’m super grateful for this group and for a job that lets me spend time with cool, interesting women! (I've been a member FOREVER!!)

Thanks for organizing such a great event, Vivian Butler

Curious… what’s one fun or festive thing you’ve done recently that made this season feel a little more special?

P.S. This was my last holiday gathering (besides family and close friends) and good thing bc it was my last sparkly outfit...and I think the faux leather pants are on their last leg 😱 Actually I'm just kidding...I have no problem repeating outfits!

Stop telling yourself you don’t have time to deal with your wardrobe chaos.
The truth is… you don’t have time not to!

The average woman spends 15 minutes every morning staring into her closet, feeling defeated.
That’s 1.7 hours a week.
A full workday every month! 🤯

Now imagine this instead...
A closet so dialed in, getting dressed takes 2 minutes flat.

You walk out the door knowing you totally nailed it, no second guessing.

A great wardrobe doesn’t demand your time.
It gives it back.

What would you do with an extra hour a week?
Drop a comment and let’s get you there ? 🙌

Always a blast to share tips and make an impact! Sam and Alex are so nice!!!!

Your closet should work like your calendar: efficient, precise, ruthless.

Closet organizing tips? You know I’ve got ‘em!

And...I shared them on 9News at 3 this week with Alexandra Lewis and Sam Sascher because a top question I always get is “how should I organize my closet?”

And while organizing your closet sounds simple, even Sam and Alex had a few (personal) questions!

The down and dirty is that having an organized closet allows your closet to work for YOU and it makes getting dressed FASTER and EASIER!

Here’s the system I teach my clients (and use myself):
🌺 Organize by item type: tops, pants, dresses, etc.
🌺 For tops, go by sleeve length
🌺 Then hang by color within those categories

This makes everything super easy to see, grab, pop on and dash out the door!

A couple of systems that don’t help:
🚫 Hanging outfits together (so hard to mix and match)
🚫 Organizing by color alone (looks nice, but pieces get lost)

Sure, every closet is different, but “my” system makes life easier for 99% of my clients.

05/29/2025

When I decided to become an image consultant, I knew I wanted to be an expert in my field. I knew fashion, but I wanted to understand why something flattered or didn’t, and be able to explain it to my clients.

So I enrolled in an intense training program at the Conselle Institute of Image Management. (So official, right?)

Before the class even started, we had LOTS of pre-work, including an assignment that totally made me cringe.

We were supposed to wear an outfit that was totally off from our norm. It could be mismatched, stained, torn, etc.

And…then go out in public and see how people reacted, and how we felt.

I procrastinated like mad! I.DID.NOT.WANT.TO.DO THIS!

When I finally got around to it, I couldn’t bring myself to go anywhere people would see me.

(It’s not that I’m so vain I can’t be seen less than perfect, but purposely wearing something that didn’t represent how I want to be seen or feel about myself felt unthinkable.)

I only wore my “bad” outfit to my parents’ house.

Unless it’s a special occasion, I don’t get dressed up to visit them, but my mom looked at me and said, “You look a little off.”

And I felt off too. Self-conscious. Not like myself. (I was actually cringing the whole time!)

That assignment taught me something I’ve never forgotten. When your clothes don’t reflect who you are or how you want to show up, it messes with your confidence.

And that’s why I do what I do. Because when you’re wearing something that feels right, you don’t just look great…you are great!

When do you feel most aligned with your style — at work, out with friends, or somewhere else?
