Thanks to Captain Chris for capturing this moment!

Take a close look at the Diamond Queen crew receiving mail from the Westcott while underway. A great example of the skill, coordination, and teamwork that keep vessels supplied while on the water.

The seasons are changing, but there’s still time to get out on the Detroit River!

As summer starts winding down and we head toward fall, Diamond Jack’s River Tours is still cruising. And honestly, those late-summer and early-fall days on the river can be some of the best.

Beginning in September, our public tour schedule changes to Saturdays & Sundays, September 5–27, with departures at:

⚓ 1:00 PM
⚓ 2:30 PM
⚓ 4:00 PM
⚓ 5:30 PM

Please arrive 30 minutes early for boarding.

Come enjoy the changing season, cooler days, Detroit and Windsor views, and a little more time on the water before our 2026 season comes to an end.

Tour dates, times and routes are subject to change.

Lakes

08/28/2026

It’s official. Lake Ontario is now “Lake America” at least for U.S. federal use.

President Trump signed an executive order directing U.S. federal agencies to rename Lake Ontario as “Lake America.” The change applies to U.S. government usage, while Canada and international organizations are not required to adopt the new name.

What do you think about the change? Will you keep calling it Lake Ontario, or are you on board with Lake America?

There are some nights on the Detroit River that make you stop and just take it all in. The other night aboard the Diamond Belle was one of them.

As we made our way down the river, the sun began to set, and somehow it lined up perfectly in the center of the Short Cut Bridge by Zug Island.

For just a few moments, everything seemed to come together the river, the bridge, the glow of the sunset, and a view of Detroit that never gets old.

I don’t think it could have been any more perfect. After all the years we’ve spent on this river, it still has a way of surprising us. It reminds you that sometimes the most beautiful Detroit moments aren’t planned.

You just have to be there when they happen.

It’s Sunday, with Captain Steve and today we’re excited to welcome two of our longtime charter guests, Scott and Kathy. They aren’t just loyal supporters of our boat they’re incredible people with huge hearts.

Every year, Scott and Kathy charter the boat entirely at their own expense to host a Special Olympics trip. They don’t charge a single guest. Their goal is simply to give these amazing athletes a fun, memorable day on the water filled with smiles, laughter, and a great time.

Scott and Kathy, thank you for your generosity and for making such a positive difference in the lives of so many. We’re honored to have you with us and can’t wait to hear the story behind this wonderful tradition.
