The original LS&M RR was incorporated in 1863 and was the first railroad linking the Twin Cities and Duluth. The first passenger train between the two cities began operation in August, 1870. The present Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad was organized in 1981, taking the name of Duluth's first railroad and using a portion of the original trackage along the scenic St. Enjoy an historic, peaceful
and relaxing 90+ minute journey along the colorful St. The train is located at 6930 Fremont St just off Grand Ave across from the Zoo in (West) Duluth. Excursions run all weekends (twice a day) from mid-June through early October. Phone 218-348-5843
