From what I’m seeing is honey flow has really kicked in, will continue over the next couple weeks. If you don’t have room, they’re going to swarm on you. One hive already has 3 supers filled, added a forth today and suspect a fifth one to be on soon. I’m seeing colonies (not mine) with brood frames packed with honey and pollen with no place to store honey or the queen to lay.

We get called or recommended for removal of honeybees, many times they aren’t even honeybees but confused with yellow jackets. Recent inquiry about removing a colony from a house. Evidence of a mistaken identity in comments. They are very good at mimicking honeybees, sometimes even fooling beekeepers, sometimes.

Letting the bees work up into a workable environment. Bees by law have to be in an inspectable enclosure, removable frames, so to “keep” bees they can’t stay in a log or skep unless it’s able to be disassembled for inspections.

Recent log trap out attempt after finding out it was a super small colony and we thought it was doomed, got into the log to find a small and assumably queen less colony, only to find out it killed supercedure cells we installed and now seems queen right. Hope we get them in a box so we can get them strong enough for winter.

When we get a swarm call or a colony in a tree or other cavity it isn’t always as it looks. Cracked this open only to find out the bees that were there were robbers, possibly the original colony that absconded when the tree fell in a recent storm.
