The Fort Bragg Sergeant Audie Murphy Club wrapped up another quarterly Adopt-A-Highway cleanup this morning along our adopted stretch of roadway. Members and candidates gave up part of their Saturday to show up, put in the work, and leave the community a little better than they found it.

That is what leading from the front looks like off duty.
Thank you to everyone who came out and contributed. Your time and effort reflect the standard this chapter holds year-round.

This morning, members of the Fort Bragg Chapter of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club joined Survivor Outreach Services volunteers at Hendricks Stadium to set up boots and place tags in honor of fallen Soldiers. Each pair of boots represents a life given in service, and each tag carries a name that a Gold Star family still carries in their heart.

It was an early morning and a quiet kind of work, but it mattered. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside SOS and to stand in remembrance with the families who gave so much.

To the Gold Star families of Fort Bragg, we see you, and we honor them alongside you.

This morning, the Fort Bragg Chapter of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club hosted its May Monthly Meeting and Leader Professional Development session at the NCO Academy.

We were honored to welcome Colonel Ken Dwyer, Special Forces officer, Ranger, combat diver, and decorated combat veteran, as our guest speaker. Col. Dwyer delivered a powerful message on building resilience, and his words spoke directly to why this club exists:

"You have volunteered to go above and beyond the minimum requirements to be the best version of yourselves, to be the best leader that you can be for others around you."
That is exactly the standard this chapter holds itself to, and exactly the kind of leader the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club is committed to developing.

A special thank you to everyone who came out this morning, including the many new faces we were glad to see in the room. Your presence matters, and we hope to see you again soon.
Thank you, Colonel Dwyer, for your time, your story, and your investment in the next generation of Army leaders.

A proud day of service for the Fort Bragg SAMC.

Today, our members and candidates joined Survivor Outreach Services to help organize and sort over 7,500 memorial tags in chronological order in preparation for the Run, Honor, Remember 5K. That is no small task, and the dedication shown today reflects exactly what this chapter stands for.

A sincere thank you to everyone who showed up and gave their time. Mrs. Karen and the Survivor Outreach Services team are grateful for the support.

FORT BRAGG SAMC | MONTHLY MEETING & LEADER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Fort Bragg Chapter of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club invites you to our May Monthly Meeting and Leader Professional Development session, where we are honored to welcome Colonel Ken Dwyer as our guest speaker.

Col. Dwyer is a Special Forces officer whose career spans more than two decades of service, four combat deployments to Afghanistan, and some of the most demanding assignments the Army offers. A Ranger, Combat Diver, and SF-qualified leader, he has commanded at multiple levels and currently serves as the Commander of the Joint Special Operations Forces Medical Training Center here at Fort Bragg. He holds master's degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and the U.S. Army War College, and his awards include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart.

In 2006, during his third combat tour, Col. Dwyer was critically wounded by an enemy RPG, sustaining injuries that resulted in the loss of his left hand and left eye, along with severe damage to his right arm and face. He chose to continue serving. That decision, and everything that followed it, speaks to the kind of leader he is and the kind of perspective he brings to a room.

This is an opportunity to hear from someone whose leadership has been tested far beyond the classroom, and whose commitment to service has never wavered. We encourage SAMC members, candidates, and anyone invested in their own growth as a leader to attend and bring others who would benefit from this conversation.

Army Emergency Relief's 2026 Annual Campaign is underway.

SMA (R) Michael Grinston, CEO of Army Emergency Relief, visited Fort Bragg and met with leaders from across the installation. He presented coins to Soldiers from the 35th Corps Signal Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, and XVIII Airborne Corps who exemplify Army values and leadership.

Taking care of our people is central to who we are as an organization. AER provides Soldiers and their families with emergency financial assistance when it matters most, helping build the resilience and stability that sustains lethal, cohesive teams.

Today, SAMC members and candidates joined Soldiers from the Fort Bragg BOSS Program for mock boards and brought the full weight of what they have learned across the Army to the table. NCOs from across Fort Bragg, carrying experience from across the force, all in the same room with one purpose: helping Soldiers grow.

What made today different was not just the pressure of the mock board. It was the people in the room. Leaders who have already walked the path, who understand what it takes to perform when it counts, stepping back in to share best practices, deliver honest feedback, and push Soldiers closer to where they need to be.

Today, members and candidates of the Fort Bragg Sergeant Audie Murphy Club came out in force to support the “Road to Boston 5K,” hosted by Fort Bragg’s own CPT Demetrius Freeman.

CPT Freeman is preparing to run the Boston Marathon and is using this journey to raise funds for the USO, an incredible organization that plays a vital role in supporting our active-duty service members and their families. Events like today’s 5K are key in generating donations and awareness for the programs and services that help boost the morale of those who defend our nation.

The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club remains committed to service, leadership, and community engagement, and we were proud to stand alongside CPT Freeman and everyone who participated in today’s event.

If you would like to support CPT Freeman’s mission and contribute to the USO, you can learn more and donate here:
