☀️Universal Kids Resort Review 💦

We attended a preview day for Universal Kids Resort this weekend and let me just start by saying don’t believe everything you’ve heard the past couple weeks about this place. We had SO much fun as a family! Our 4 year old had a blast and did not want to leave the park. As parents we enjoyed watching her experience all the joy the park brought her throughout the day.

👧🏼👦🏽 Keep in mind, this park is designed for kids and is not an experience like going to Universal Orlando or Disney. But for a theme park in Texas I personally thought it looked great. The theming throughout the park is super cute and we enjoyed walking through all the lands. I would say ages 3-9 is the target audience here.

🎢 The rides are made for kids and yes they are short in length but again…made for kids! The seats are also designed for kids and not plus size friendly. There were a few that were very tight and I opted to watch but standing on the side watching my daughter giggle and squeal was equally as fun for me. Loading and unloading rides is slow (kids move at their own pace) just to keep in mind. The express pass might be worth the investment because I do think lines could have long wait times if park was at capacity. We didn’t wait longer than 10-15 for any attraction.

☀️The staff and characters were AMAZING!! Like seriously, everyone was so kind and the character interactions were top notch. Our daughter was slightly overwhelmed in the Gabby line and one of Gabby’s dancers came over, got down on her level and chatted with her and taught her Gabby’s secret handshake. It was so intentional and made a big impact.

🧁Food: everything we ate was good and decently priced. I found the quality of food to be quite good and we cleaned our plates at lunch. There is also quite a variety around the park to choose from. As a mom I appreciated the small silverware that was provided. We didn’t have to use a spoon that was 3X too big…it’s the little things.

💦 You will get wet! Bring a swimsuit or change of clothes. We alternated water vs dry rides an honestly it was great. Texas is hot so getting wet felt great and we were dry 15 minutes later. There are multiple splash pads throughout the park and several water rides. The Minon water ride will get you soaked but it was a highlight of the day for sure. There are water cannons throughout the water rides where non riders can sq**rt the riders with water and honestly that detail was so fun to watch as families battled it out of who would get who more drenched 😂 They do have changing rooms by the splash pad to have easy access for changing if needed.

🦋 Play! This park is full of play elements and creative energy and I really appreciated that. It encourages kids to play together and be creative. I also loved that they incorporated areas for families with kids who have special needs. Spots that allow them to step aside experience a calming spot and sensory areas to help regulate emotions in a safe space. There are staff scattered throughout the park that have games like corn hole and hop scotch set up for kids to play in passing.

🎤 The shows we saw were cute and energetic. The Trolls show was super fun and everyone enjoyed dancing and singing along with them.

🚽 Bathrooms were clean and each seat had a built in child’s seat! Small detail but so nice to have! They even have low sinks in each bathroom so kids can easily wash their own hands. I loved this detail!

🛍️ Lots of shopping! Shop workers were slightly pushy on buying things but I think it’s because they were training and we were the only ones shopping at the time. There is a wide variety of items and we had fun exploring all the options.

🕶️ It’s hot but there IS shade despite what the influencers were saying. Could they add more? Of course! And honestly I hope they do as time goes on but there wasn’t anywhere in the park that I couldn’t find shade when I wanted some. I also hope they add more bench seating around the splash pads but that’s a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.

🎉 We will definitely return, our daughter is already asking when we can go back. I think we will try out the hotel next time (it looked so colorful and cute, I was dying to go inside and see it!)

This is one of those bookings I wish that I could pack myself in their suitcase and join them! This sweet family is going to have the most relaxing time celebrating an anniversary and a college graduation next month. This all-inclusive resort has it ALL!

Did I mention it's not too late to plan a summer vacation? 😉
