📣❗️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ❗️📣
Professional Pilots of Tomorrow has served the aviation community for the last 10 years primarily by providing unbiased pilot mentorship. PPOT continuously strives to serve the next generation of professional pilots at no cost while maintaining the highest quality of support.
That always has been, and will continue to be, our commitment to our members.
As a result of this commitment, and the work of nearly 800 volunteers, PPOT has seen explosive growth. The Organization started with just 200 members in 2016 and has since grown to 3,400 members! Thank you to all our Leadership Team members, mentors and mentees for playing a role in the growth and success of PPOT.
With such explosive growth, it is necessary constantly gauge the demand to join PPOT compared to the Organization’s ability to stay true to its commitment of providing quality mentorship and support.
A recent surge in mentee applications, while incredibly exciting, has led to a situation in which the number of current mentees exceeds our capacity based on our group of mentors. Continuing down this path would lead to frustration and a failure of the Organization to uphold these stated values.
In consideration of these factors, the Organization has made the very difficult decision to temporarily close the mentee application portal. This is the first time the Organization has closed the application portal in its history, and the decision was not made lightly.
We hope to reopen the application portal in the Fall of 2026, but will only do so when we are confident we have enough mentors to effectively care for the next generation of professional pilots.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward welcoming additional mentees in the near future.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the next few weeks, we will be working closely with our partners to help us spread the word that we are looking for additional pilot mentors to help support our mission. In addition to this, we will be strategizing a targeted social media campaign to help onboard new qualified, vetted, and trained mentors, including the use of paid advertising services.
To remain completely unbiased and objective in the services we provide, PPOT relies heavily on independent donations from our members and small organizations to support our operations.
Although the PPOT Leadership Team generously contributes their time and resources, their support alone is not enough. We greatly value the contributions we receive, and 100% of every dollar and donation goes directly towards supporting our core operations, improving our organization, and expanding the resources we provide to our members.
A link to our Donation Portal can be found in our Instagram Bio.
We ask that if you are able to, please like, comment, and share our social media posts to drive engagement and provide us opportunities to be recognized on the social media algorithms.

Should you personally know any qualified candidates to volunteer as pilot mentors, please feel free to send them our way! A link to our Mentor Application Form can be found in our Instagram Bio.
As a reminder, please see additional mentor information below:
Mentor Eligibility Requirements:
While we respect each individual pilot's experience, background, and diligence, at this time, we require our pilot mentors to have experience as a professional pilot in a position in addition to a traditional CFI position.
This can include pilots with experience as a professional Part 91K, Part 135, or Part 121 position.
Mentor Expectations
- Remain unbiased throughout the whole process
- Offer insight as to what a typical day consists of
- Offer insight to quality of life determinants when working for an airline
- Guide the mentee to the appropriate person when company specific questions arise
- Guide the mentee to the appropriate person when quality of life questions come up that you do not have personal experience with (ex. commuting vs. living in base)
PPOT is strictly not a recruiting organization. We are entrusting each mentor to offer guidance to the mentees they are assigned. If any mentor is found using this organization for recruiting purposes, that mentor will be subject to Dismissal
Mentor Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent communication with mentees. At a minimum check in on your mentee and the progress of their flight training/instructing every 30 days
- Submit Mentor Update Forms at least once every 90 days
We thank you all for your continued support, and as the summer continues, our leadership team will continue to work diligently by processing mentor applications, hosting additional free live webinars, working to expand our growing list of partnerships, and preparing for our Fall 2026 scholarship season.
Sincerely,
PPOT Leadership Team
