UPDATE YESTERDAY, company that was coming to do the estimate and clean out on Saturday never showed up 😂 big surprise

Customer calls me Tuesday morning.

Customer;
hello I’d like to set up a time to get an estimate on cleaning out a house in northville. Would it be possible to do the estimate on a weekend?
Me;
not a problem can you do Saturday morning around 10am?
Customer;
what’s the cost for the job? How many guys are you bringing? How long will it take?
Me;
we will be coming out Saturday to figure all of that out along with scheduling. Estimate shouldn’t take more than a half hour, estimate is free of charge.
Customer;
How much can you get done on a weekend?
Me;
We are not doing any removal at the time of the estimate. Just coming to look at the project and give you a price estimate.
Customer;
I don’t understand?
Me;
I am also confused.
Customer;
So you won’t be taking anything with you Saturday? What’s the sense of coming?
Me;
You asked me for an estimate on a project that’s what I’m coming to do on Saturday around 10am if you’re available.
Customer;
We’ve decided to hire someone else, they are doing the estimate and removal on Saturday.

I’ve now wasted days talking with this customer that didn’t know what an estimate was. If it was a small amount I would have just taken it on Saturday if they were ok with the price. But they insisted on an estimate first. Can’t make this stuff up
