Florida ✔️ (again!)

We technically checked this state off our 5K-in-50 journey back in 2012 (it was one of our first races!), but today felt extra special First race where all four of us actually ran!

Chris tackled the half, and the kids and I did the 5k. Emmett took off and finished strong, and Claire and I crossed together, cheered on by a very proud little brother at the finish line (who also questioned what took us so long 🤣). Moments like this are exactly why we started.

These kids have logged countless races over the years (stroller miles and womb miles included), but running together was something special. They both said they are excited to keep on running together!

On to the next race!

Highlights from stadium #2 Target Field for the Minnesota Twins vs Texas Rangers on June 10.

Loved Target Field! It was Prince and$1 hot dog night so we picked a great game to check this great stadium off the list. Everyone was so nice, even though we were cheering for the Rangers (well, really just for former Florida Gators Baseball stud Wyatt Langford).

Weather was incredible! These Floridians definitely appreciated the cooler nights and we couldn't stop talking about how perfect the night was.

Rangers crushed it, winning 16-4!

Welcome to Races & Bases! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️⚾️

We’re Jen and Chris Lesshafft (plus two kids sometimes!)—on a mission to run a 5K in all 50 states and catch a baseball game in every MLB stadium along the way.

What started in 2012 as a fun couple’s challenge has turned into a family adventure full of road trips, early mornings, finish lines, hot dogs, and home runs.

Follow along for race recaps, travel tips, stadium reviews, kid-friendly adventures, and plenty of behind-the-scenes chaos as we chase down two big bucket list dreams—one mile and one ballpark at a time.
