4/30! Back in April, we checked Citi Field off our list when we saw the Mets vs the A's! When Chris asked me if I wanted to go to NYC for my birthday, it was an obvious yes. But when we realized we'd be able to cross another stadium off the list, we had to make it happen!
Timing was perfect - not only did I get to celebrate my birthday in one of my favorite cities, our friend and his fiancé (who is now also a friend!) were visiting the US from Thailand, which prompted some Mets-loving friends from Florida to head up to NYC too. The icing on the cake - my cousin just happened to be working in the city that weekend and we got to see her, too. Amazing!
Getting to Citi Field was super easy from Manhatten. We hopped on the train and it was pretty much a straight shot to the stadium. We got there a little later than we wanted so we weren't able to snag a Juan Soto bobblehead which was the giveaway that afternoon. The weather was fantastic although it was a bit chilly for us Floridians. The game was fun, although the home team lost (darn 🤪). We spent some time walking around and really enjoyed this ballpark. Citi Field did a great job of recognizing the old Shea Stadium, too. We wore our Gator orange and blue, and cheered for "New York". Us Braves fans just couldn't bring ourselves to actually cheering for our division "rival" (is it really even still a rivalry? 🤪)
Super excited that we still have another NY stadium to visit, and I have a feeling it won't be much longer until we're there again.
I have to do it - Go Braves!!
