First genome successfully simulated on a quantum computer marks new era
Scientists have reached a major milestone by loading and analysing genetic information using a quantum computing system, showing how biological data like a genome can be processed in fundamentally new ways compared to traditional computers A genome is essentially the complete instruction manual of a living organism, and normally decoding or simulating parts of it requires massive computing power, but quantum systems use qubits that can explore many possibilities at once, potentially speeding up certain types of genetic analysis
