Four runs today, and once again, a little bit of everything.

Sometimes it's a single shore. Sometimes it's a couple of cable bridles. Other times it's a 12-foot trench shield sitting on the trailer, ready for an early start the next morning.

Not every load is big, heavy, or particularly impressive to look at. But somebody needs that equipment, and my job is to get it where it belongs.

That's something I love about running TKN Valley Transport. You don't have to pick and choose the interesting jobs; they just show up. Some are pretty straightforward. Others take a little more planning, patience, and work.

Today was a little of both.

A successful day completed, tomorrow's equipment preloaded, and we're ready to do it again.

Three loads today. One delivery to start the morning, followed by two off-rent pickups headed back to the GTS yard.

One thing about owning a small transport business — you wear a lot of hats. Driver, dispatcher, load securement guy, mechanic, and occasionally an extra set of hands when it's time to load or unload.

Some days that means climbing up on the trailer, working with the equipment operators, and figuring out the best way to get things done.

I didn't start this business to stand around and watch other people work. That's not in my DNA. If I can safely lend a hand and help keep things moving, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

The two pickups will go through inspection and cleanup at Guardian Trench Safety before heading back out to another jobsite.

Three loads, a little sweat, and another day in the books.

Great start to the week with four loads in the books today.

Started with a run out toward Superior, AZ, then back to the Valley for two local deliveries and a pickup.

Steel plates, shoring equipment, and plenty of time behind the wheel. Some jobs take you out into the middle of nowhere. Others keep you running around town. Either way, the equipment needs to get where it's going.

Nothing fancy. Just another day of hauling equipment, getting the job done, and keeping things moving.

Well, that wraps up another couple of days behind the wheel.

Thursday started way too damn early with a run up toward Kingman. Once that delivered, I headed back to the Valley, picked up a load of off rent equipment, and then got loaded and everything ready for Friday morning.

Friday wasn't much different. Delivered what I had loaded the day before, then spent the rest of the day picking up three more loads of off rent equipment.

Six loads in two days. A bunch of miles, a bunch of hours, and a whole lot of getting in and out of the truck.

Some days everything falls into place. Other days you're just figuring it out as you go. That's pretty much how this business works.

I'm not complaining, though. I started TKN Valley Transport because I needed some mental stimulation, wanted to work for myself, and I genuinely enjoy what I'm doing. Even on the long days.

Now it's Friday evening, and you'd think I'd be putting my feet up for the weekend.

Nope. The Cummins is getting a new belt this weekend. 🔧

Apparently, being the owner, driver, dispatcher, and mechanic doesn't leave much room for being lazy. 😂

📞 When the phone rings, we're ready to roll! 🚛🇺🇸

The call came in around 7:45 this morning, and we were prepped and ready to respond!

Three deliveries today, moving trench safety equipment to where they were needed.

You never know exactly what the day will bring, but being prepared, flexible, and ready to respond makes all the difference.

And today's work didn't stop with those three deliveries!

We're already preloaded with a trench bridge for another EARLY departure tomorrow morning, heading toward the Kingman area once again.

Another productive day supporting Arizona's construction industry, and another opportunity to earn our customers' trust.

Ready when called. Prepared for what's next. 💪

A little rain, a birthday, and back to business! 🌧️🎂🚛

It's been a few days since my last post, but sometimes life gives you a reason to slow down.

Yesterday, the Arizona rain kept us off the road, but it also happened to be my birthday! I got to spend part of the day with my son, which made the unexpected downtime that much better.

Today, it was right back to work with three loads and another opportunity to take care of our customers.

That's one of the things I appreciate about owning and operating my own business. Some days are long, some are unpredictable, and some remind you what's really important.

Family time yesterday. Freight moving today.

Another year older, another day on the road, and still grateful for every opportunity!

Three loads today—and somewhere in between, the mobile office opened for lunch. 😂

A lot of this business happens behind the wheel. Deliver, reload, secure, drive, repeat…and eventually find a few minutes to eat.

Today’s “office” included:
☕ Coffee
💧 Plenty of water
🥤 Protein fruit smoothie
🍗 Protein-packed lunch
🥔 And yes…chips. Because balance.

More equipment moved safely and another productive day for TKN Valley Transport.

Not every part of running a transportation business happens behind a desk. Sometimes the desk is the passenger seat and the lunchroom has a Cummins attached to it!

Six loads today—and a great way to finish the day.

The last delivery had me working alongside one of the Guardian Trench Safety drivers, and those are honestly some of my favorite jobs.

We may be driving different trucks, but we’re working toward the same goal: getting the equipment where it needs to be safely and efficiently.

There’s always something to learn from someone else’s experience, and there’s usually something you can do to make the other guy’s job a little easier too.
Learning from each other. Helping each other. Getting the job done.

Some days start a little earlier than others.

2:00 AM start this morning to pick up off rent equipment that was delivered a week ago near Kingman by 6:00 AM.

Made the run, got back to the yard—and found two more deliveries waiting.
Three loads. Three deliveries. One long day of keeping equipment moving where it needed to go.

That’s the job. Be available, stay flexible, and get it done.

A little Sunday recap from the end of the week.

Friday brought two deliveries, followed by more time working through the unexpected truck issue that showed up earlier in the week.

That’s part of running your own transportation business. Some days are about moving equipment. Some are about keeping your own equipment moving.
The deliveries got done, the problem was diagnosed, parts were sourced, and the repair work continued into the weekend.

Now it’s about getting everything ready for another week.
Deliver the load. Handle the problem. Keep moving forward.
