This week, we proudly recognize National Emergency Telecommunicators Week and the incredible individuals who serve as the vital link in moments that matter most.

Emergency telecommunicators are the calm, steady voice on the other end of the line—often in someone’s worst moment. They gather critical information, coordinate rapid response, and ensure help gets where it’s needed without delay. Their professionalism, focus, and composure save lives every single day.

In our industry, we understand just how important clear, accurate, and timely communication is. While our drivers are out on the road, it’s these dedicated professionals working behind the scenes who help keep communities—and operations like ours—safe and supported.

They exemplify our core values:

Dedicated to Our Loved Ones – Every call they take is rooted in protecting families and helping people return home safely.

Caring – We Care for Others – They show compassion and empathy in high-stress situations, providing reassurance when it’s needed most.

Knowledgeable – We Seek to Understand – They ask the right questions, gather the right details, and make critical decisions quickly and effectively.

To all Emergency Telecommunicators: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to others. Your work does not go unnoticed.

👤 Employee Spotlight: Bill Lucas 👤

Bill has been with us for nearly two years now and has become an important part of the team. We’re grateful for the consistency, experience, and perspective he brings every day. He’s got a unique story and path that led him here—and we wanted to share it in his own words:

"My name is Bill Lucas, and I live in a small town in Illinois. Looking back over my life, I can see how each chapter—whether it made sense at the time or not—played a part in getting me where I am today.

Right after high school, I joined the Army and spent four years serving my country as a combat telecommunications center operator. Two of those years were overseas in Europe, and the other two were stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. That experience helped shape my discipline, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility, but when I got out, I wasn’t completely sure what direction my life should take.

I went on to study automotive technology and earned both a certificate and a two-year associate degree. Even then, I still felt unsettled, like I hadn’t quite found my place yet. I took a year off and traveled to Australia on a mission trip, where I served as a mechanic. That experience opened my eyes and gave me a deeper appreciation for serving others.

After returning to California, I spent several years involved in short-term mission work. Eventually, my path led me to Kentucky, where I became part of a live-in facility that helped people overcome life-controlling issues. That place changed my life. What started as a season of personal growth turned into 15 years of service, where I worked as a counselor, mechanic, and in maintenance. It was there that I learned the value of consistency, accountability, and walking alongside others through difficult times.

In 2005, I married my wife, Judy, and together we began a new chapter. We later moved to Wisconsin, where I worked in an automotive shop for a while. Then during the COVID season, an unexpected opportunity came my way—I was able to get my CDL and start a new career in truck driving in 2020.

I spent my first year over the road, learning the lifestyle and the responsibility that comes with it. After that, I transitioned into local driving in Wisconsin for the next three years. Then, because of medical needs in our family, we moved to Illinois to be closer to my in-laws.

That move turned out to be a blessing in more ways than one. I was given the opportunity to begin hauling fuel—something I had wanted to do from the very beginning of my driving career. Today, I can honestly say I’m working my dream job.

Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors—riding motorcycles, biking, playing softball, and spending time reading. My wife Judy enjoys puzzles, reading, bicycling and we both value the simple things in life.

When I look back, I see that not every step made sense at the time. There were seasons of uncertainty, change, and growth. But each one had a purpose. From the military to missions, from counseling to trucking, every part of the journey helped shape who I am today.

And now, I’m grateful—not just for where I’ve ended up, but for the path it took to get here."

Bill, we’re glad you’re here and appreciate everything you bring to the team. 👏

🎉 Anniversary Month Shoutout! 🎉

This month we’re recognizing two people who keep things moving in very different—but equally important—ways: Ariel N. and Mark M. 👏

Ariel, in Logistics/Operations Support, is one of the key pieces behind the scenes making sure everything lines up the way it should. When things run smoothly, there’s a good chance Ariel had a hand in it.

Mark, out on the road, represents what we’re all about every single day—getting the job done safely, professionally, and reliably. That consistency doesn’t go unnoticed.

Different roles, same impact. We appreciate both of you and the work you put in day in and day out.

Help us congratulate Ariel and Mark on their anniversary month! 🎉
