For families experiencing housing instability, getting to school shouldn't be one more thing standing in the way. Under the McKinney-Vento Act, students have the right to stay at their school of origin and get there safely, even if their housing situation changes again this year.

That's why consistency matters so much to us. Whether a family is navigating a shelter stay, a temporary move, or something in between, a reliable ride and a familiar driver can be one steady thing in an otherwise uncertain season.

For some students, the ride to school is the only predictable part of the day.

Gladys De Lucio, Director of Transportation at East Aurora School District (IL), made that point during our recent webinar. Districts often have no visibility into what a student's morning looked like before pickup, or what happens after drop-off. What they can control is the ride itself.

Same driver. Same pickup time. Same safe arrival there and back.

For students experiencing homelessness or in foster care, that consistency is not a nice-to-have. It is often the one steady thing in the day, and it is what makes showing up possible.

Families and districts navigating Special Education or McKinney-Vento transportation needs shouldn't have to wait weeks for a solution.

That's why our team works to get routes set up and started within 48 to 72 hours, so students can get back to a safe, consistent ride as quickly as possible.

Because every student deserves reliable transportation, especially when they need it most.

When your child gets on the bus, you want to know two things: are they safe, and will they get there on time.

Our latest blog talks about what real transportation monitoring looks like for families, including how tools like the RideAware app give caregivers visibility into their child's ride without a single phone call to the transportation office.

Back-to-school season looks calm from the outside. Behind the scenes, transportation teams are working through summer to ensure every student, including those with additional needs or in transition, has a safe, consistent way to get to school on day one.

We put together a guide for transportation directors on planning for the busiest season of the year, because when that planning is done right, families feel it. Fewer surprises. Fewer last-minute changes. More calm mornings for kids who need routine the most.
