Berkeley County Blades

Berkeley County Blades About 12 years ago I became more and more frustrated trying to find and affordable, intelligently designed knife...so I started making my own.

I make cutting tools that are simple, functional and durable. I make knives that are designed to beat up, not display on a wall. I carry and use my own knives on a daily basis and unconditionally stand behind everything that I make. Whenever possible I use repurposed steels and wood that was destined for a wood stove. Most of the steel I use comes from old commercial band saw blades (15-20 carbon

steel). I do use different semi stainless steels such as 440C, 154CM, and D2 but on a special request basis. I obtain and season most of the wood I use for handles and typically have, Black Walnut, Black Locust, Black Cherry, Bucote, White Oak, and Osage Orange but I offer Cocobolo, Bloodwood. Teak, Mahogany, Zebrawood, Ipe and Paduch as well as micarta, Dymondwood and legally harvested and obtained Whitetail, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose and Caribou. A Black Walnut dyed leather sheath is included with all knives except for kitchen knives, Ulu's or otherwise stated. I will make a sheath for any of these or other knives if requested. Most of my knives start out around $70.00, kitchen knives and Ulu's around $55.00 including shipping. Exotic wood, antler, steel, design modification and special orders or last minute rush orders will be a bit more and quoted on an individual basis. I also do blade and tip repair, edge regrinding and sharpening. Call for details and price quotes
