Life update: we’re officially a family of 6 🤍

We celebrated with our first staycation as six: 2 nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikīkī. Big sister feeding the baby, pool days with the whole crew, and a short media shoot at our favorite staycation happy hour, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman

Here’s how we did it for a lot less 👇

1️⃣ Kamaʻāina rate: We booked 2 nights at the local resident rate
2️⃣ Hilton Aspire resort credit: Our card credit covered a good chunk of the stay
3️⃣ Diamond status upgrade: Status from the Hilton Aspire helped us land a Tapa Tower one-bedroom suite. I paid a little extra for it, but with 4 kids, the space is worth it. It’s my favorite room at the Village.

Diamond has gotten us an upgrade on every stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village so far. Upgrades are never guaranteed, but having status makes a real difference for families.

Bigger ʻohana, same mission: helping Hawaiʻi families travel more for less. Mahalo for following along and being part of our journey. 🙏

Life update: we’re officially a family of 6 🤍

We celebrated with our first staycation as six: 2 nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikīkī. Big sister feeding the baby, pool days with the whole crew, and a short media shoot at our favorite staycation happy hour, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman

✈️ Why booking through Qantas is a great option:
Most people don’t have a big stash of Atmos points, but a lot of locals are sitting on Amex, Capital One or Citi points. Since those transfer to Qantas, you can still grab these business class seats without starting from zero. It costs more points than booking with Atmos, but it turns the points you already have into a lie-flat seat to Australia.

Starting Monday, October 5, happy hour at Monkeypod Kitchen starts an hour earlier. New time: 2:30 to 5pm daily (it used to start at 3:30).

I was privileged to be invited to the Alaska Air Group Accelerate Event at the Alaska Airlines Global Training Center. Here’s some pics from the experience!

We just got an personal invite from Alaska Air Group and what and have coming next completely blew us away.

Here are 3 things I personally really appreciated:

1. The emphasis on hospitality and comfort.

New features like exclusive check-in areas, new lounges, redesigned lie-flat suites, and the all-new Premium Reserve cabin. Think 38 inches of pitch, extra recline, leg and calf rest, 16-inch 4K OLED TVs with Bluetooth, cocktail trays, and better food and drinks. More choices for travelers to enjoy. Coming in 2028.

2. The intentional integration of culture and innovation.

From design choices to partnerships with top-tier chefs who thoughtfully curate menus inspired by place and people. And the new Leihoku Suites on Hawaiian’s A330s featuring lie-flat pods with doors and direct aisle access. Hawaiian hospitality at its finest.

3. The personalized options with the Atmos Communities Program.

Starting October 1 choose HOW you earn: distance, price paid, or segments. Four new Atmos Communities give you free perks tailored to your travel style.
