UPDATE: A bunch of clients emailed me after my post. Thank you all. I have decided to keep my agency open on a part time basis. The phone that never rang (everyone emails) , is disconnected however if you need my travel services, email as you normally do. Thank you all 🥹

With tears in my eyes and a hurt in my heart I make this announcement. After 27 years in this crazy business, I am calling it a day. Covid really put a hurting on the agency and now people calling and getting all my expertise as a destination specialist and then booking themselves online using all the information I provided, is just to much. A lot of agencies, and fellow agents started charging a fee that went towards the clients bookings if the client finalized through that agent. If they did not, the fee was non refundable. They also charged fees on just bookings in general.
I never wanted to do that, as I truly believed that vacation dollars are to hard to come by, and I wanted my clients to get the best value for their hard earned money.
I only charged fees on airline tickets, as airlines charge us.
I love all my long time clients that made this career path so enjoyable! You absolutely gave me joy. All the great reviews, the amazing stories of your adventures whilst on the trips, the referrals, and the gifts you were so kind to bring me as a “Thank You” meant the world to me.
I am so happy that I got to help bring you joy by the experience of well curated and personalized travel. I will truly miss you all.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and keep the drive to experience and see other cultures and destinations alive. It’s the best way to make our world a bit smaller.

Important Notice: Enforcement of Mexico Customs Regulations on Electronics

Effective immediately, please be aware of the following guidelines concerning the import of electronic devices for travelers to Mexico. Each traveler is permitted to bring ONE portable computing device (e.g., laptop, notebook, or iPad) without incurring an import fee.

If passengers bring multiple devices, such as a laptop and an iPad, each will be treated as a separate item, which may result in additional fees.

Allowed Items:

•

1 laptop or similar portable computing device (e.g., iPad)

Limited Items:

•
Up to 3 cell phones

•
1 GPS

•
2 cameras

•
1 pair of binoculars

•

4 fishing poles

Exceeding these limits may result in customs duties starting at 19% of the item's estimated value, with some cases reporting fees as high as 200%. To avoid these potential charges, please advise your clients traveling to Mexico to adhere to these guidelines.

I wanted to reach out to all of my clients and let them know whats been going on. The loss of a bestie plus my father in April and my mama a few days ago. Its been better and we had to take a few months off.

Following the March 3 kidnapping of four Americans in the Mexican border town of Matamoros, the U.S. State Department issued new travel warnings for several areas of Mexico.

If your planning a spring break trip, our suggestion would be to book earlier rather then later.
On that note: Gypsy Travel has a mandatory insurance policy for all bookings. This protects your hard earned dollars and our agency during these uncertain times.

Dear Valued Travel Clients,

We would like to inform you that as of April 1, 2021, the state of Quintana Roo will be requiring all foreign tourists to pay a tax of $244 Mexican pesos (around $11 USD).

The payment can be made prior to travel, upon arrival or during the stay, as the tax will be imposed upon departure. Visitors will have the option to access http://visitax.gob.mx/, where they will complete a brief questionnaire and make the payment.

The VISITAX form will request the following information:
Number of people traveling
Name, age, and passport number of each individual
Departure date
Every tourist departing the state of Quintana Roo must show their proof of payment at the airport prior to boarding.
