By sponsoring a thru-rider on this event your sponsorships are converted into scholarships that will be given to young people for the 2016 summer wilderness adventures. These wilderness adventures are given to youth on probation with the juvenile court system, and are voluntary, non-punitive and faith based. New Path Adventures (NPA) provides the transportation, equipment, and food for these wilde
rness experiences. The youth will be gently guided and challenged to consider the path of life that they are on, and introduced to the option of walking on a new path with Jesus Christ.
14-days of backpacking along portions of the Colorado Trail, has proven to be an effective catalyst in helping the at-risk youth take an inventory of their life and even set some new goals, that can lead to restored relationships with God, family, friends and community. NPA reaches the youth through the wilderness activity. They are rescued by God's love. They are helped to restore healthy and positive relationships. Help us reach, rescue and restore, help us to "ride for them" and sponsor this project or a thru-rider today. The more scholarships we raise, we can offer them to more young people that need to know someone cares. It seems the easier thing to do is to pour out the punishments and probation terms, but it is not as easy to show the at-risk youth positive alternatives and encouragement. That is what RYG does through it's New Path Adventures - we show the at-risk youth that their life matters, and we invest in them, we love them and gently guide them to make positive and productive choices in their lives.
