🚛 IRS Updates Per Diem Rates for 2024-2025

ICYMI: The IRS has increased per diem rates for the transportation industry. Starting Oct. 1, drivers can receive $80/day tax-free for meal and incidental expenses (M&IE) while on the road—up from $69.

What does this mean for fleets and drivers?
✅ Drivers: Tax-free per diem reduces your taxable income.
✅ Companies: Deduct per diem payments to lower tax liability.

Key Changes:
High-cost localities: $319/day
Other localities: $225/day
Incidental expenses only: $5/day
