This session provided valuable insight into grant priorities, eligibility requirements, and how local organizations can better align their applications to make a meaningful impact. Opportunities like this not only increase access to funding, but also strengthen the connection between community organizations and corporate partners committed to growth and sustainability.

Today, we take a moment to remember and honor Christian Navarro — a devoted leader, son, and true champion for our community.

After the passing of his mother, Yolanda Black Navarro, one of the founders of Shoes For Kids, Christian made it his mission to carry her vision forward. He worked tirelessly — not for recognition, but for the children and families who needed it most.

For Christian, Shoes For Kids was personal.
It was love in action.
It was a promise to his mother that her legacy would never fade.

Though he is no longer with us, his impact continues to live on in everything we do.
In every child who receives a new pair of shoes.
In every volunteer who shows up to serve.
In every smile, every moment of dignity, every life touched.
