T&T SALVAGE LLC’s regional representative, Ms. Anna Shipilli, along with Vice President Mr. Elias Psyllos, attended the 36th of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber today in Limassol, Cyprus.
The Cyprus Shipping Chamber, established in 1989, serves as the trade association for the in . Initially founded by seventeen members, it now comprises approximately 200 significant companies involved in , , , and other , both within Cyprus and internationally.
During the event, the esteemed of and the of the delivered addresses to the members of the . Additionally, the President of the Mr. Themis Papadopoulos announced the appointment of Mr. Thomas Kazakos, the Director General, as the new Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), effective from April 1, 2025, succeeding Mr. Guy Platten, who is set to retire soon.
As the forthcoming President of the American Salvage Association, Mr. Elias Psyllos aims to serve as a roving ambassador for the planning to achieve this through active collaboration with the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), and the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO) as well as the International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (INTERCARGO)

New fuels mean new challenges for all those who handle them including the crew, but also, crucially, salvors. The session will ask whether salvors need to have separate skill sets for each new fuel type and how that would work in practice.
