It’s Social Work Month.
And if there’s one thing studying human behavior has taught me, it’s this:
People don’t operate in isolation.
They operate inside systems.
In psychology, we study how family structures, environments, and organizational systems shape behavior.
In business, it’s no different.
When systems are unclear:
• Leaders overfunction
• Teams underperform
• Everything feels urgent
Not because people are incapable.
But because structure shapes outcomes.
Strong businesses don’t just have vision.
They have infrastructure that supports the people inside them.
This week, I’m reflecting on how systems thinking shapes the way I build, lead, and support founders.
Because weak systems don’t just slow growth.
They create burnout.
