Every year in motherhood, I’ve found myself choosing one “mom project” that feels fun and meaningful — something that teaches me creatively, emotionally, professionally or personally.

Last year, I was on the book launch team for the ultimate motherhood manual from Devon with Transforming Toddlerhood, something I needed desperately at that time!

This year, I’ve gotten early access chapters to Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East’s upcoming book… The Courage to Commit!

You know when you read something at exactly the right time that it feels like it’s speaking right to you - somehow the words find you in a vulnerable place you didn’t even realize and it becomes exactly what you needed to hear?

That’s what this book felt like for me.

Not in a preachy way. But, through relatable reminders about identity, pressure, and showing up for the people you love while still trying to figure yourself out too - all wrapped up in the ideas of finding joy and choosing commitment!

It felt less like reading another self-help book and more like sitting across from people willing to be real about the messy parts of life - mistakes and struggles - and how they’ve grown and adjusted accordingly.

I think a lot of us need more of that real insight right now!

As the Queen of “keeping my options open, taking risks, starting a new project before an old one is finished”, my 2026 word has been commitment - to my business, to my family, and to myself! This book comes at the perfect time to lead the way in those efforts!

Wednesday’s 🚘🌻

Come on a day trip along a small stretch of Historic Route 66 to celebrate the road’s 100th anniversary with my Disney Cars-obsessed kiddo!

Our adventure started in Carthage, MO with colorful murals and a stop at the whimsical ghost town, Red Oak II, before heading west to Galena, Kansas!

We had a fun photo op with Lightning McQueen, Luigi, and Sheriff, stopped under the sunflower ‘Welcome to Galena’ arch, explored local shops, lunch at Cars on the Route, and picked souvenirs at Gearhead Curios.

On the way home, we made one final stop in Joplin, MO for gourmet chocolate for Mother’s Day treats - I’m not sure who was happier about that - Levi or mama?!

What I love most about these adventures is how much learning happens along the way for both myself and my kiddo. History feels different when you’re standing where it happened, exploring small towns, talking with local business owners, and discovering the stories behind these hidden gems!

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you can do all in a long day and fall in your own bed at the end!

Oh how fun! Summer camp season is here!

Join us at our 250 Celebration Camp for a patriotic and creative experience! This America-themed camp is for kids ages 6 and older from 9am-12pm on June 23rd-25th. Be ready to make new friends and create amazing red, white, and blue projects. Don't miss out on this stars-and-stripes celebration! Limited spots available, register now! We will be creating 5 projects during this camp using various mediums. This is a drop off only camp. Only paid registrants are allowed in the camp area. Cost is $145 per camper. Completed projects will be ready for pickup in 2 weeks.

… rice does not vacuum up! 🙄

If you’d like to handpick rice off your floor.. accidentally spill your sensory bin.. I have no problem with messy play - but rice related play will be an outdoor playground activity only moving forward! 😂

Now - I have seen a momma recently who has her kids bond over picking up rice together as a consequence of fighting - so that is one way to enjoy rice pick up! lol

What is your play ick as a mom - something you avoid at all costs in your home?

I’d also love to hear what your mom hack is for resolving sibling fights!!

I love to mix nonfiction book learning, silly-fun picture books, music and movement, science, and history related to whatever theme we’re exploring—alongside activities like art, sensory play, and other open-ended learning experiences.

I am Taylor, a boy mama in my “reading books and raising babies” era. My kitchen just comes as another room to clean in my home - so you won’t catch me sharing recipes and sourdough ideas!

Wild and Wise Adventures was created with the intention to build a community we can share the things our family loves most!

•Books mama and her minis are reading, play-based learning activities, and “social hours” with our community-based club!

•We created the +Wild and Wise Explorer Club+ (an in-person creative skills class for kids ages 0-5 to experience art, music, stories and socialization for both adults and children!)

•Real-world exposure through local adventures and activities across our community, including kid-friendly roadtrips around the Midwest!

Hey! 👋🏼

Our Wild and Wise Explorer Club is going to meet for our Summer Social Hour on Thursday, June 4th from 6-8:30 PM!!

Wild and Wise Adventures is hosting the Kid Zone activities for the Big Fans of JCMO Community Concert at the Capital Region Amphitheater and we want our kiddos to join us for a fun night out!

FREE Event! 🆓🎟️

We will have Central Dairy Ice Cream for the first 100 kiddos that stop by! 💯🍦

We’ll have something for all ages from our big yard games to our sensory bins and various art projects - we won’t be having music class - because we’ll be enjoying music provided by Clay Benne and The Dave Baker Band instead!!! 🎨🎶🎸🥁

We have been sneaking into 2026, slowly and intentionally.. today was the first day we’ve really been out since all of our family Christmas festivities! One of our favorites - reading and sensory day activities with our local library!

This year I’ve opted to pause on the overpacked schedules and constant rushing to the next thing so we will look a lot different soon! I’ve got a new project in the works to share in the next few days! I think you’ll love it! 🥰
