Hey, I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that I started school again and will unfortunately have to significantly reduce the days and hours that I will be available to run Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. providing sober rides throughout the community. I greatly apologize to the callers last night that I was not able to assist, and I hope that you made it home safely without driving impaired. I am finishing my associate's degree in substance abuse counseling at Flathead Valley Community College, taking four classes for a total of 11 credits. I have also started my bachelor's in social work at the University of Montana with a minor in psychology and will be in three different classes totaling 9 credits. Between the two schools, it will be 7 classes and 20 credits, needing every second I can to have my face buried in a textbook.

I will try to be a little bit more diligent about posting the current hours I am in service. I had a friend from school, Cadence Dean, help me come up with a little bit of an informal application if people are interested in volunteering to drive to hopefully fill the gap in my absence so that community members still have a reliable sober transportation option home to avoid causing yet another fatality wreck here within the beautiful state of Montana that we so fortunately get to call home. Please reach out to me via email, text, phone call, or private message if you are curious about volunteering. If you shoot Ms. Cadence a private message, she may be able to get you a copy of the application or answer questions that you may have if you ask real nicely (Thank you, Cadence!)

Last but not least, I wanted to encourage anyone who has a chance to attend the Montana DUI Reform Summit on September 3rd. This is your chance as a community member to voice your thoughts, ideas, and concerns about the ongoing DUI epidemic sweeping across Montana. There are going to be activities to immerse you in the "DUI experience," such as victim impact stories from people who have lost loved ones as a result of someone driving impaired, trying to navigate while wearing drunk goggles, and even having to make arrangements with the mortuary! I will be making a short five-minute speech to close the evening out by sharing my story of my experience navigating the trials and tribulations of getting a DUI. To my understanding, this event has not been created to shame anyone for their choice to drink alcohol but rather to educate the public about the detrimental consequences of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.

I know my timing could be better when it comes to expressing gratitude for the incredible support I received from so many people who answered the call when I asked for donations and volunteers during the Under the Big Sky Festival. Because of that generosity, I was able to rent both vans and put fuel in them with little to nothing coming out of my own pocket. I put those vans to good use, driving 12+ hours a day over the three days of the festival. I safely transported a couple dozen people. Looking back, that number may not seem large compared to the thousands who attended, but in my mind it was a huge success. Just one of those rides home could have kept a mom, dad, sister, brother, or friend from being taken away from their family if someone had selfishly decided to drive drunk.

I want to give a huge shout-out to the General Manager of Games N Taps, Ms. Shannon—not only for her own donation, but also for encouraging her bartenders to donate half of their tips from working a couple of those days. I don’t like putting too much emphasis on money, but we all know how expensive everything is these days. For those employees to give part of their hard-earned tips was a truly monumental act of selflessness. I also have to commend Ms. Shannon for the way she runs both Games N Taps and The Timber Bar & Grilll. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of building a business relationship and friendship with her, and I’ve personally watched her stick to her guns about not overserving patrons and making sure everyone gets home safely.

A massive thank-you goes out to the management and all the bartenders at the Rainbow Bar and Casino for their unconditional support throughout my sobriety journey—and for letting me interrupt business and “steal” ice. These folks, along with the teams at Big Bucks Sports Bar & Grill Casino and Glacier Park VFW Bar & Casino, deserve the credit for the cold waters, Gatorades, and sodas I was able to provide for hydration on those sober rides home. I simply couldn’t have afforded the enormous amount of ice needed every day to keep the drinks cold during our intermittent heat waves. Next time you’re enjoying food or drinks at one of these places, tip them a little extra or just give them a simple thank-you. They’ve earned it.

Last but certainly not least, I want to thank everyone in the community who donated to make sure people had a safe, sober option home after enjoying the festivities at the festival and the bars. I also have to put Ms. Lacey on blast (with her full permission) for being one of my favorite people I had the pleasure of transporting during the festival. Her humorous personality alone made the rides a joy, but she went the extra mile by giving me a thank-you card filled with coffee gift cards, packed lunches and snacks, and drinks. That kind of thoughtfulness meant more than she knows.

If you’d like to help keep Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle on the road and continue offering safe rides in our community, you can donate directly through Venmo at . Every contribution—no matter the size—makes a real difference. Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC.

I finally got into a new F-150 after my accident a few weeks ago, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Cody at Glacier Window Tinting in Columbia Falls. He did an awesome job tinting the windows for Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC.—and even reached out to offer the work completely on the house in support of the free sober rides I’m providing for our community. I’m continually amazed by the wonderful people of Flathead County who go out of their way to show support and help keep our roads free of impaired drivers!

I believe that everything happens for a reason and one thing that has been helpful for me in my recovery is trying to find gratitude in unfortunate events rather than the apparent resentment. First and foremost I am greatful that everyone was able to walk away from the accident. I could have stopped sooner and maybe went around vehicles as I saw this one quickly approaching in my rearview, but I am greatful I was paying attention and able to stop when i did.

Second in complete transparency I used to be the guy that would toss beer cans under his seet, or reach to hide a partially full one from the cup holder. If I was to get in an accident like this in previous years of addiction I could have claimed my own life or an innocent bystander, but you know what I was SOBER when it happened and avoided both of those horrid outcomes. I couldnt be more greatful for all the support I have recieved throughout my recovery and getting to almost 20 months of sobriety.

I am greatful for my momma that always makes sure to mail me my Progressive insurance card because I have full coverage that is going to save my bacon. The other driver did not have any insurance so I will have to pay a deductible but atleast my medical expenses will be covered and the rest of what I owed on the vehicle will be covered as it was a lease. Thank you to Tammie Moore for talking me into going to the hospital to get checked out as I have so many problems with my back already and telling me you were going to kick my butt if I left as I had to wait 6 hours in the ER.

I also wanted to thank the Flathead County Sheriff's Office Evergreen Fire Rescue, MT Montana Highway Patrol for getting their so quickly. Your departments showed me nothing but compassion and genuine concern for my well being and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart more than you know.

Another thing I am greatful for is the connections I have made in the process Centsible Auto Sales and Enterprise Rent-A-Car (Columbia Falls, MT). I was able to get a dodge 1500 to drive while insurance figures out all of the different moving pieces and getting me a new truck. While at enterprise the lady saw my Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. shirt and let me know they could open a business account to get discounted rates renting their vehicles.

I will be renting a transit van from them friday at 12pm that will be able to accommodate 12-15 people for Under the Big Sky . This will be right around 120 dollars a day plus insurance costs. Censible is renting me an 8 passenger van at a discounted rate starting tomorrow for 150 dollars per day plus insurance. I recently left my job at RCM for personal reasons and need HELP covering the costs of both these vans along with fuel, snacks, and drinks. MY GOAL IS 1,500 dollars. Any and all support is greatly appreciated as I know how tight finances are now a days. MY VENMO IS and any donation can be considered a tax write off because i am a Non-Profit organization. I realize that everyone does not have venmow so if this is an issue and you still want to donate I would be more than happy to meet you in person and give you a sticker and some business cards and a super big thank you!! If you are not able to help by givung a dollar amount, I would greatly appreciate the support by passing this post along. Thank you in advance!

Something ive always struggled to do is asking others for help. With Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. growing, upcoming doctors appointments, and Under the Big Sky Festival quickly approaching the Flathead Valley; I am in need of some HELP. CJ Rideau and Mrs. Tammie Moore have both graciously agreed to be on call the 17th-19th with varying avaliabilty. Tammie is like a second mom that held my hand while I was at the dentist a few weeks ago if that says anything about her outstanding character. CJ has worked at the Ritz and drove for amazon giving him the skills necessary to shuttle intoxicated people home safely! They are both dependable, trustworthy, and down right good human beings!!

People of the Flathead and surrounding communities, I need your help with getting intoxicated festival goers home safely from enjoying an amazing show and also from the bars which I am sure will be packed over the weekend! You can email me at [email protected], text/call me directly at (406)596-2370, or shoot me a private message on Facebook! I want to make sure we are able to accommodate anyone who is in need of a sober ride home! Thank you community members of the flathead and surrounding areas for all the love and support, I could not do this without you!!

I feel like sometimes there is to much hatred out there in todays world, or atleast we could stand to have some more happiness. Several weeks ago I decided to stop and give this gentleman a ride from outside of East Glacier into kalispell so that he could continue on his journey to be with his family in Washington in efforts to try and spread a little bit of joy. Hey everyone, I am sorry for the lack of updates as I have been extremely busy with finishing up a summer class for my associates degree, getting accepted to the social work program at the University of Montana, meetings with different business owners throughout the community, late nights shuttling people home from bars, and most important being present for my ride or die and lil 11 year old.

I know these reviews are on my page and accessible for viewing at any point, but I wanted to make a post about them for several different reasons. First for a female getting into a strangers vehicle may seem like a daunting idea or a barrier especially while being intoxicated and not being in full control of yourself. I wanted to reassure everyone that while riding with Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. You can feel completely safe just like Keeley Ann mentions in her comment.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to Bias Brewing bartender Rose for calling me several weeks ago to get one of her patrons home safely. She was going to take money out of her own pocket to pay Uber 40-50 bucks to get him back to Bigfork, but I was fortunately avaliable sooner. This gentleman had enjoyed quite a few drinks at another establishment and couldnt hold much of a conversation on the way home so when I dropped him off there wasnt really a thank you or any donation made. The point of this detail to the story is that the people who have venmowed me or seen me on the streets and contributed to my organization in keeping drunk drivers off the road and members of the community a safe alternative home, this is where the donations come into play so thank you!!

Next I wanted to give a shotout to Lacey who works at Big Bucks Sports Bar & Grill Casino for calling me last week to get a heavily intoxicated male home safely to Columbia Falls. Alcohol is a mood, mind altering substance that impairs your ability to make the best judgements at times leading people to think they are "okay to drive" home when they really arent. It is so incredibly helpful to have bartenders that are sober help out make the decision for the well being of the customers and call me to get them home safely. Which leads me into my next point.

One of the owners at the Silver Bullet Bar and Casino reached out the me last week to set up a meeting that couldnt have gone better. She is a 5th generation Montanan who has unconditional love for her community and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. During the meeting I met several of her bartenders which she explained to me that are not allowed to drink while on shift. This is a hard task to accomplish when customers are constantly trying to buy you shots, but is vital to prevail in because essentially it is their job the keep the people who are drinking safe or decide when someone as had enough.

I also wanted to thank the Blue Moon Niteclub for letting me plaster my flyers throughout your bar because this is where i get the highest amount of calls from. Thank you Bethany Dodson who works at the Rainbow Bar and Casino for reaching out for a ride last week as well.

First I have to pay respects to the greatest momma in the world, youve been my number #1 supporter since day one. You have stood by me through the darkest of times when I didnt think I was going to make it, you pulled me through until I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I love you to the moon and back.

2nd Mrs. Tammie Moore you opened your arms, your home, and your heart without hesitation when you saw the angst amongst my face. Feeding me and taking me under your wing like your own son. I really dont think i would have been able to make ut through these last couple of weeks without you. Thank you for voluntelling your other half Mr. Brad I needed to get to missoula for my SI joint injections. I cant wait to see what the future holds for Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. the possibilities are going to be endless. Its true when they say dynamite comes in small packages because i have never met someone with as much intelligence, motivation, and love as you. I hope you know how much you mean to me, your family.

Last but not least my two puppers Mr. Oly and lil homie Jax. Thank you for of the unconditional love , I dont know what I would do without you guys.

Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. Is now officially a Non-Profit organization!! I wanted to sincerely thank everyone in the community and my family and friends who have donated to this business and helped provide a safe option for those who choose to enjoy a couple frosty beverages. You can write it off when filing taxes next year! What started out as a pipe dream has now become a reality. Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that one day I would be running a non profit organization with endless possibilities for expansion. I wanted to thank my best friend, my partner in crime, my other half Sarah Calhoun for never giving up on me even when times got tough. I also want to thank you for having the most amazing 11 year old daughter Ms. Ava Marie, its not easy being a single mama and you work your butt off each and every day to give her the best life possible. Your support and daughter gave me the motivation to start this business keeping impaired drivers off the road preventing families from having to see a loved one go to soon. I have made so many amazing new connections and friends like Mrs Tammie Moore. Thank you for taking me under your wing like your own son, I am so greatful to have you in my life. I also want to thank the few individuals for their doubt, for thier opposition, and ultimately for your desire to see me fail, because I use it as motivation to push through the long nights and prove you wrong. Hey i wanted to update everyone and let them know that Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. will not be doing sober rides tonight in the Flathead Valley. I took a trip to dillon montana to fish the opener of the beaverhead river, a decade long old tradition and am out of town. Much needed weekend of self care after a long couple weeks finishing school, so on and so forth. I do have my eyes set on several people to hire to help out volunteering, only 1 class over the summer, both allowing me to be able to set a concrete schedule when i will be running free, safe, and sober rides. This is one step closer to having this be a 24/7 service as well. I want to sincerely apologize to the 2 people who called/texted last night inquiring about a ride home that I wasnt able to come through and for not better preparing and letting everyone one via post. I will di better next time. Sidebar if you are in Dillon Montana and need a sober ride home, please feel free to reach out as driving impaired doesnt only happen in the Flathead and I want to serve and keep my whole state safe!!
