In Henderson, North Carolina you can catch a movie under the night sky at Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre, an old-fashioned drive-in that has been showing films since 1949! Originally called the Moon-Glo Outdoor Theatre, it opened more than 75 years ago and has remained in operation through several owners and a later name change. You can park facing the huge outdoor screen, tune your radio to 90.3 FM for the movie sound, or bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit outside beneath the stars. The snack bar serves drive-in favorites including popcorn, burgers, fries, nachos, pretzels, soda, lemonade, tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. This Friday through Sunday, September 11-13, the theater is showing “Coyote vs. Acme” at 8 p.m., followed by “The End of Oak Street” at 9:45 p.m. One ticket covers both movies, making it easy to stay for the full double feature and enjoy a classic night at the drive-in.
