One of my strongest Disney opinions:

You do not need to know everything about Disney to have a great Disney vacation.

Actually, trying to know everything may be what's making you crazy.

There ARE things worth planning ahead. Your dates. Where you're staying. Your tickets. What experiences matter most to your family.

There are also things you don't need to decide nine months before you leave.

I broke down 7 things I'd start planning early, what can wait, and why I'd much rather have you choose three things your family really cares about than try to conquer all of Walt Disney World.

The idea to plan ahead for a Walt Disney World vacation can give you better choices, but you do not need to spend the next year planning every minute of your trip.

I became a travel agent in 2010 because I asked for a Walt Disney World quote.

Seriously.

We had already taken our kids to Disneyland several times, but when we decided to do Walt Disney World, I realized Florida Disney was an entirely different animal. I'd only been once as a teenager, so I contacted a travel agency for help.

Somewhere in the process, instead of just booking the quote they gave me, I started wondering:

What would it take to become a travel agent myself?

That was about 15 years ago.

Turns out I really like taking the 700 pieces of a vacation and figuring out how they fit together. Resorts, dates, transportation, cruise ships, dining, budgets, who is going and what they actually care about.

The only problem is I personally cannot afford to take every vacation I want to plan, which is why I enjoy doing this with others!

So... I'm officially coming back to travel.

I've spent the last few months building a business around Pinterest because I'm good at Pinterest. I know how to use it. I know how search works. I know how to turn content into traffic.

There was only one minor problem.

I didn't actually want to spend my days teaching people Pinterest.

Meanwhile, I kept taking travel bookings. Talking about Disney. Planning cruises. Helping people with Hawaii. You know, the business I've actually been doing for about 15 years.

Apparently there was a clue there.

So Pinterest isn't going anywhere. I'm just putting it back where it belongs for me: behind the scenes, helping people FIND my travel business instead of being the business.

Ohana Getaways with Linds is officially my focus again.

Disney is the front door, with cruises, Aulani, Hawaii, and all of those “where should we go next?” trips along the way.

And yes, I'm much more excited about this.

Disney Cruise Line just dropped Fall 2027 + Spring 2028 itineraries, and there are some BIG updates!

The biggest news? Disney Wish is headed to NEW YORK! 🗽🚢

Here’s what caught my attention:

🍎 Disney Wish from NYC
Seven special sailings, including Bermuda plus New England & Canada itineraries. Wish arrives in New York after her first European season.

🏝️ More San Juan sailings
Disney Wish + Disney Fantasy will offer 5–7 night Southern and Eastern Caribbean cruises from Puerto Rico.

🌴 Disney Destiny moves to Port Canaveral
For the first time, Destiny will home port at Port Canaveral in Fall 2027 with Bahamas + Western Caribbean itineraries.

⚓ Panama Canal cruises are back
Disney Magic will sail TWO 14-night Panama Canal repositioning cruises, including new ports in Panama.

🌊 Florida gets LOTS of options
Wish, Treasure, Dream, Fantasy and Destiny will all have Florida sailings, including several itineraries with TWO visits to Castaway Cay.

🌴 California + Texas
Disney Magic and Wonder will sail from San Diego, while Magic will later head to Galveston for 4–7 night cruises. Select Galveston sailings visit BOTH Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay.

🌏 Disney Adventure
The Adventure continues sailing from Singapore with 3–4 night itineraries.

🎃🎄 Holiday cruises return
Halloween on the High Seas begins in September 2027, followed by Very Merrytime cruises in November and December.

📅 Booking dates:
Castaway Club early booking begins August 31
General booking opens September 8

And yes, I already have opinions about which of these I’d choose. 😂

If a Disney Cruise is on your 2027 or 2028 travel list, NOW is the time to start figuring out which itinerary you want so you’re ready when booking opens.
