Those who travel Route 9 regularly should expect delays Wednesday, May 20 as the remains of 44 individuals from the Revolutionary War are transported to Lake George for reinterment.

The motorcade for the “Repose of the Fallen” project will include New York State Police leading nine Korean War and Vietnam-era military trucks operated by members of the NY-Penn Military Vehicle Collectors Club. The convoy will include an es**rt provided by New York members of the Patriot Guard Riders.

The motorcade will depart from the back of the NY State Museum at approximately 10 a.m. Wednesday. The route north will take it through Albany County, Saratoga County and into Warren County at the city of Glens Falls, where there will be a brief halt at the intersection of Route 9 and Bacon Street for an observance.

From Glens Falls, the motorcade will travel through the town of Queensbury to the town of Lake George. Upon entering the village of Lake George, the motorcade will turn north onto Elizabeth O'Connor Little Boulevard, then head east on Beach Road for a short distance before turning onto Fort George Road and stopping at the memorial site. The estimated time of arrival is noon to 1 p.m.

Upon arrival, most of the caskets will be immediately interred in the memorial. The remaining four caskets will be taken to a nearby church to be safeguarded until the ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22.

The remains were unearthed in 2019 during excavation for a construction project in Lake George.

You spent two weeks planning the route. You booked the campsite, the gear, the whole crew.

Then someone asks: "So how are we getting there?"

Logistics are always the last thing and somehow always the most stressful thing. Especially when you're moving bikes, boats, or luggage across unfamiliar roads.

APoint handles the transport. You handle the adventure. Send this to whoever's in charge of the group logistics.

With e-bikes becoming more popular, it's good to become familiar with the rules in the area you'll be riding.
*We love transporting (legal) e-bikes if it means getting more folks outside.

With warmer weather here, e-bikes are popping up everywhere , on our roads, trails, and bike paths. They're a great way to get around, but they come with their own set of rules. Here's what you need to know before you ride in Washington County and the rest of upstate New York.
