Can you bring your own StarLink Mini on your next Virgin Voyages cruise?

Virgin Voyages specifically lists “networking gear such as Starlink or routers” among its prohibited items. It also prohibits satellite phones and related communications equipment.

And Virgin isn’t alone. Carnival prohibits satellite dishes, routers, and other internet/networking equipment. Princess similarly lists personal satellite dishes/receivers and routers among prohibited communication devices. Royal Caribbean’s current rules also give ship security broad authority over electronic equipment, while Royal itself sells onboard internet powered by Starlink.

There’s an especially funny angle here: the cruise ship may itself be using Starlink. Royal Caribbean says every ship in its fleet has Starlink-powered internet, and Celebrity advertises its onboard Wi-Fi as powered by Starlink.

So the message becomes:

THE SHIP can have Starlink.
YOU cannot bring your own Starlink.

A little personal update from me. ❤️

You may have noticed I’ve been a little quiet here.

While we were away, our home in Hawaii sustained significant damage from Hurricane Lala, and right now my heart and my attention need to be there.

The most important thing is that my family is safe — and for that, I am incredibly grateful. 🙏🏽

So I’m not disappearing, and isn’t going anywhere. I may just be a little quieter than usual while we take care of home, family, and everything that comes next.

Travel has taught me that sometimes the itinerary changes whether we’re ready for it or not.

This is one of those times.

I’ll be back sharing adventures, travel tips, laughs and probably a few Flo F’d Up moments very soon. ❤️

For now, I’m giving myself permission to take care of home.

Thank you for being here. It means more than you know. 🏡❤️

Europe Pushes Back ETIAS Launch Indefinitely

When ETIAS EVENTUALLY goes live, the authorization fee will remain €20 for applicants between the ages of 18 and 70. Approved authorizations will be valid for three years, or until the linked passport expires.

BELFAST & NORTHERN IRELAND 🇬🇧☘️

Today we explored Northern Ireland—and what a beautiful day this turned out to be!

We chose a semi-private tour with fewer than 20 people, traveling in a minibus, which I really loved because it made the whole experience feel a little more personal.

Our first stops took us along the gorgeous Northern Ireland coastline, including the dramatic ruins of Dunluce Castle, sitting right on the edge of the cliffs.

Then it was on to one of the places I was most excited to see—Giant’s Causeway.

And let me tell you, pictures do NOT do this place justice. Those incredible rock formations, the ocean crashing beside them, and that rugged coastline… absolutely spectacular.

Hello Everyone! It’s time for Monday Minute.

Let’s do a recap of yesterday’s day. So we went on a trip to Wales. Port was Liverpool but Virgin has a shore excursion that a bus takes you to the quaint town of Llangollen.

The scenic drive was just beautiful. We took a steam train which I believe went to Corwen. We had tea and coffee, scones and cakes. We got to see them load the coals in the engine room. It was definitely a different experience.

Best part is once again, I get to see the country where my Grandpa supposedly grew up. I don’t know what part of Wales but this is definitely another country we checked off the box unexpectedly.

Ohh and I love the tiny chubby sheeps. I want to take them home.

SCOTLAND — YOU FELT LIKE A FAIRYTALE 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Okay… I think Scotland may have stolen a little piece of my heart.

We spent the day exploring the Scottish Highlands, and our first stop was the tiny village of Luss.

And when I say fairytale village… I mean FAIRYTALE.

Charming little cottages, flowers everywhere, quiet streets — it honestly looked like somebody built a movie set and forgot to take it down.

From there, we stopped at beautiful Loch Lomond before heading up to one of my favorite viewpoints of the day — Rest and Be Thankful.

And seriously… with a name like that, how can you NOT stop?

You stand there looking across the Scottish Highlands and it really does make you stop, take it all in, and count your blessings.

But then Scotland gave me something I absolutely wasn’t expecting.

We stopped at a little museum shop, and while looking around, I FOUND THE MILLAR COAT OF ARMS.

Millar — my mother’s family name.

And if you’ve been following along, you know I’ve recently started digging deeper into my Millar family history and learning more about my grandfather, Alfred G. Millar, whom I never had the chance to meet.

So there I was…

Standing in Scotland, holding a piece of a name that suddenly means so much more to me.

That one hit differently. ❤️

Then we continued to Inveraray and visited Inveraray Castle.

Now THIS was my moment.

I’m a huge Downton Abbey and Bridgerton fan, so give me a gorgeous Scottish castle with that grand aristocratic feel and I am HAPPY.

And then…

WE SAW THE HIGHLAND COWS!

You know the ones.

The adorable Scottish cows with all that hair hanging over their faces like they’re wearing little toupees! 😂

I wanted to take one home.

And because apparently Scotland hadn’t spoiled us enough already, we finished our evening back onboard at the new Ariya restaurant, formerly Razzle Dazzle.

The Indian food was SUPERB.

Fairytale villages.
Lochs.
Breathtaking views.
A little unexpected connection to my own family history.
Castles.
Highland cows with fabulous hair.
And an amazing dinner to finish the day.

Scotland…

You understood the assignment.

And this is exactly why I always say:

Don’t just travel to see places.

Travel to FEEL them.

And today, I definitely felt Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️

WE MADE IT TO DUBLIN! 🍀

Good morning from Dublin, Ireland!

After a little adventure getting here—including a delayed flight and a midnight fish and chips mission—we’ve officially arrived!

This is the first stop of our incredible eclipse cruise, and I can’t wait to share Ireland with all of you.

Follow along over the next couple of weeks as we explore castles, charming villages, breathtaking coastlines, and of course… chase one of nature’s most spectacular events—the total solar eclipse.

First stop: A Day at the Malahide Castle 🏰

✨ And just like that… our adventure begins. 🚢

There’s something magical about embarkation day.

Watching your ship come into view…
Celebrating sail away…
Enjoying that unforgettable first dinner…
And finally settling into your home at sea—yes, complete with Virgin Voyages’ iconic red hammock.

We’re officially on our way across the North Atlantic as we chase one of the world’s most incredible natural events—the total solar eclipse. ☀️🌑

This is only Day 1… and I have a feeling the best is yet to come.

Travel isn’t about everything going perfectly. It’s about staying flexible when it doesn’t.

Let’s recap Day 1:

✅ Wrong terminal.
✅ Luggage marathon.
✅ Husband conveniently disappears with the rental car.
✅ Finally make it to the Virgin Clubhouse.
✅ Get comfortable…
✅ “Ladies and gentlemen, your flight has been delayed…”

And not because of weather or air traffic—but because they had to change the aircraft tires.

You know what? Of all the reasons for a delay, that’s one I can get behind. I’d much rather hear, “We’re replacing the tires,” than “Eh… they’ll probably make it across the Atlantic.” 😅

I guess safety wins. 🫶🏼
