I'm an aviation enthusiast to the core and this passion pervades most everything I do. I started as a boy building & flying RC airplanes in local air shows. What started as a childhood hobby ultimately influenced my future career choices. For the past 17 years I've worked in corporate/private aviation, maintaining some of the most technologically advanced aircraft

in existence today for both Fortune 500 companies and ultra HNW individuals. However during my downtime, I've always gravitated to the more thrilling side of aviation. For years I've trained in both aerobatics and hang gliding. I'm also building a Super Cub replica from scratch (not from a kit). Most recently I've returned full circle to my RC roots. I'm fascinated by the potential applications of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and the low cost aerial solutions they can provide the public. As such, I've started a business venture with this goal in mind. Thus spawned CET Aviation (and my subsequent joining of Facebook in the ripe year of 2015)

Form follows function. We have worked very hard to achieve the highest quality out of our aerial platform. The "last chance" vibration absorption plate was needed in order to eliminate any little vibration making its way into the zoom lens. Trying to keep a 65 mph roller coaster in frame proved to be quite the challenge for resident camera gimbal operator Ryan Henry. Enjoy this short clip from a recent shoot with our high payload, dual operator octocopter. Video footage is uncorrected. "Drones, human factors and mental toughness." Multirotor, remotely piloted aircraft have been greeted with open arms by the movie, TV and marketing industries. This technology is constantly being pushed to the limits in order to obtain that "blockbuster movie" shot. Remote pilots and their teams should understand how their equipment operates, understand how radio signals propagate and can be blocked by surrounding structure and how their aircraft will return to home in case of a signal loss. Most importantly, pilots should be utilizing checklists before flight to avoid missing a critical functional check. Companies hiring drone flight services may not have the same knowledge or understanding of this new and exciting industry. It is up to pilots and their teams to inform all personnel of the safety related concerns when providing a safe flight environment. Below are some 'frame grabs' of a recent roller coaster commercial we filmed. There were many concerns operating in this environment even though the entire park was closed for filming. All of our concerns were discussed with production crews during safety briefings so that everyone was properly informed and on the same page. http://cetaviation.com/ "passion takes flight"

Autonomous flight of a remotely piloted, fixed wing, airplane requires a lot of pre-flight planning. The aircraft needs to be properly tuned and configured, the geographic and meteorological information observed, and the waypoint mission thoroughly planned. Unlike multirotors, airplanes can not hover, so precise altitude measurement is needed during the landing phase. This comes in the form of a laser rangefinder reporting altitude to the onboard flight controller. Once a flight mission has been properly planned, the pilot now has repeatable flight missions and can monitor the ground station for faults. There are many uses for repeatable flight missions: border patrol, surveillance, commercial fishing, power line inspection, fence inspection, and search and rescue operations just to name a few. http://cetaviation.com/ "passion takes flight"

Uncorrected footage using our optical zoom with remote trigger system on our high payload, dual operator octocopter. We installed an ND2 filter over our zoom lens (14-42) and set the camera to 'Auto'. This setup is geared toward aerial inspection work but can also be used in cinematography after proper camera calibration (SS, A, ISO, WB).
