“Happy Memorial Day”

For many families, today carries a silence most people will never understand.
A last hug they didn’t know was the last.
A voicemail they can’t bring themselves to delete.
A seat at the table that never got filled again.

Freedom has a price.
And for some families, that price was everything.

So today…

Put the phone down for a minute.
Teach your kids why the flag flies.
Listen when a veteran speaks.
Pray for the families still grieving.
Visit the cemetery.
Say their names.
Take a moment of silence for the ones who never made it home.

Freedom is not free.
Not every hero came back.
And that’s what we remember on Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

People get so caught up in the number of followers that they forget there are real people behind the screen.

If someone follows you, it's because something about YOU connected with them.

Your mindset, your story, your content, your energy, your perspective.
Don't take that lightly.

Talk to your audience. Engage with them. Reply to comments. Answer messages.
Speak life into people.
Motivate someone.
Inspire someone to keep going.

A platform isn't built just by posting content.
It's built through connection.

Never look at your followers as "just numbers." Every follow is a person who chose to support what you create in a world full of endless content.
Appreciate that.

Lately life has looked a lot simpler for us.

There was a time where I could overplan every week, fill our calendar, make every outing “meaningful,” and still have energy left over!
It was easier to do when life felt aligned and my mind wasn’t carrying so much at once.

But somewhere between the extreme stress, work, lack of sleep, constantly being overstimulated, and not pouring anything back into myself… even normal routines started feeling heavy.
And if I’m being honest, Athena felt that burnout too..

So lately I’ve stopped trying so hard to create these perfectly planned days.
I started slowing down and actually listening to her simple little requests instead.

She doesn’t want some elaborate itinerary every week.
She wants to go grab boba, come home, play for a little, read books together, watch a movie curled up next to me, and just exist together.
That’s it.
Entire days made out of tiny moments.

And honestly… it’s been beautiful.

I think sometimes we get so caught up trying to create magical childhoods that we forget kids often find the magic in the smallest things.
The undivided attention. The safety. The calm.
The version of you that isn’t rushing through the day.

So for now, we’re slowing down.
And I think we both needed it. 💛
