She has been AI’d heifer sexed to lron span. We have an appointment in a few weeks to get her confirmed by a vet.

She brings in BL Rio Cachet the first 100” TTT cow in the breed and Gold Mine a renowned Texas Longhorn bull that is famous for winning five separate Horn Showcase titles throughout his career.

She has been AI’d with 2 straws of heifer sexed semen from possibly the greatest son of Drag lron named Iron span. Iron span is a 93.5” TTT Bull bringing in the perfect cross of top caliper and Dickinson Cattle Co. Genetics.

She has a very square body with a great top line and hip. She is extremely friendly.
She is registered with the TLBAA , halter broke and has a good size and horn direction.

It is in my opinion that most of the time every breeder hopes for a heifer calf. However a wise person once said that your pairing should be so great that no matter if you get a bull or heifer your genetics will speak for them selves and you will be able to easily market or keep that animal. That is the attitude I bring to the table in this situation.

Dam: RI One Star’s Chief has been an asset in elevating the Rock island breeding program. She represents the kind of Texas Longhorn female that will add both visual appeal and genetic value to any program.

A big thank you to every person that attended, watched online, bid, bought, consigned, sponsored, and worked at this year’s Fort Worth Stockyards Longhorn Auction!

Over 2 million dollars worth of cattle were sold this weekend!

As you all know two of our New Mexico members sold cattle at the sale in Fort Worth. JB longhorns out of Lovington NM sold BCR Ember for $22,000. Rock island longhorns out of Tucumcari NM sold Eloise RZL for $60,000. Make sure to congratulate them when you see them at our next event.
