Today our Vice President of STM Travel Design and Director of Business Development for Share the Magic Travel, Megan Love, shared about her journey to growth and our agency’s partnership with Travefy at the Travefy Live event.

We take seriously our relationships with travel partners, and Travefy has played an incredible role not only in streamlining our advisor’s businesses and processes, but also helps us strengthen our relationships with our clients and make their lives easier.

If you’ve worked with one of our advisors, you’ve likely received detailed itineraries with everything in one place. That’s because of Travefy’s software, and we are so grateful to work with a company who understands both the needs of travel advisors, AND their clients!

We are so proud of Megan’s leadership, not only for scaling her own business, but along the way also helping so many other advisors to grow their travel business as well by utilizing tools like Travefy.

This week, our clients who traveled weren’t just “on vacation.”

They were:
• Standing in places they’ve only seen in photos
• Slowing down over long, sunset dinners
• Experiencing destinations in a way they hoped and dreamed they would

And the messages we received said things like:

“This is exactly what we needed.”
“I'm so glad we listened to your advice.”
“You nailed it.”

That’s the goal every single time.

We're not just booking a trip, we're not just planning logistics and boxes to check, but we're creating thoughtfully designed experiences that let you be fully present once you've arrived.

That’s the difference when you work with an STM Travel Design advisor.

As we approach summer, there’s a craving of sunshine and doing nothing. All inclusive resorts are popular destinations, but they are also often misunderstood.

Here are 3 things that are important to know:

1. The Caribbean consists of over 7,000 islands.

We get it, sometimes you just want to get away and not think about it. However, as advisors when travelers come to us and say they want to go to an all inclusive resort “anywhere in the Caribbean,” that is way too broad. If you don’t have an island in mind, have a vibe in mind that we can help you narrow down.

2. The vast majority of all inclusive resorts are in 3 countries.

Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic are where you are going to find the most resorts. Know that if you don’t want to travel there, your all inclusive resort options are going to be far more limited.

3. Room type matters.

Ocean view and ocean front are two completely different views and locations at resorts. An entry level room is going to be a very different experience than a butler level room. Some resorts have room types in buildings that are adults only, but the resort itself allows children. Know ahead of time what is non-negotiable to you.

With thousands of resorts to choose from, having an advisor who specializes in all inclusive resorts can truly make or break your vacation. Their destination knowledge and expertise takes the overwhelm out of the decision making for you, so you can focus on soaking up the sun and sea.

Today, one of our advisors inside STM Travel Design showed exactly what this work really looks like: Not the highlight reel, not the pretty hotels or perfectly timed itineraries, but real travel support.

Her clients were hit with significant, unexpected issues —the kind that derail everything. Flights had to be shifted, plans were unraveling, and stress was building quickly.

Instead of panicking, she went to work.

She advocated. She pushed back when needed. She pivoted quickly. She got creative, and she problem-solved in real time.

Not only did she ultimately fix it — she turned it into something better than what they originally had planned.

This is the part of the job people don’t see.

The late nights, the time-sensitive decisions, the behind-the-scenes calls, emails, and escalations, and the responsibility of holding someone else’s experience in your hands and refusing to let it fall apart.

We hear it all the time:
“Why would I use a travel advisor when I can just book it myself?”
"Travel agents are still a thing?"
“Can you just price match this? Costco has a better rate.”

and especially... “I'd love your job. It must be so fun to travel all the time.”

Yes, the travel part is beautiful. But this? This is what we actually do.

We step in when things go sideways. We protect your time, your investment, and your experience. We navigate the parts of travel you don’t want to have to figure out on your own, especially when it matters most.

We are so proud of the way our STM advisors show up for their clients; not just when everything is perfect, but especially when it’s not.

That’s the difference between booking it yourself and working with a professional travel advisor for your next trip. If this sounds like the right fit for you, we'd love to help you plan yours.

If you’ve ever hopped on social media and asked for people’s opinion on something, you likely left more confused than when you first started.

Inevitably, one person is going to say they loved something, and the next comment someone is going to say they didn’t like it.

This is also true with travel. Some people may really love a specific destination or brand, but ask another person and you could get an entirely different opinion.

This is why what we do as travel advisors matter.

A couple of weeks ago when 6 of our members were at the ASTA River Cruise Expo, there were over 9 different brands represented and 16 ships present. Between all of us, we toured and experienced every single one.

Do you know what we found?

They are all different.

As we sat down for dinner together, we would discuss our takeaways. Some ships were not great for anyone who has mobility and accessibility needs. Certain brands were excellent for group travel, while others were best for those who like to do their own things. As we saw different room types, we were already thinking of clients who would love it, and others that it wouldn’t be a good fit for.

As professionals, we would step onboard and our brains immediately started taking notes. We asked direct questions to staff, we experienced service, we tasted the food (a hard job but, research ☺️).

Why? Because a key part of our job is the ability to match the right client to the right travel partner, ship, stateroom type, itinerary, and overall experience each traveler wants to have.

No matter where you want to go, we take the guesswork out of the equation for you, leaving you with clarity and confidence as we work with you to plan the trip you are dreaming of.

A unique service we love when traveling is Flytographer.

When you are investing in a vacation, you want to preserve those memories. Having photos is like having your own little time capsule.

Sure, you’ll come home with a phone full of photos and videos, but when you look back, you will wish for more than a selfie snapped in front of a landmark.

Flytographer is a professional photography service in hundreds of cities and across multiple countries.

You can select a vetted, professional photographer to work with, select your route, session time, receive a set number of edited photos, and even order prints of your favorites.

As advisors, we can help you coordinate this for your upcoming travel, and make sure to leave time in your itinerary to capture these moments.

Have you ever done a professional photo shoot when you’ve traveled to a new place?
