September 10th- 17th is recognized nationally as Truck Driver Appreciation Week. We want to express our gratitude for our own drivers, as well as all drivers across the country, for the hard work and time they put in keeping America supplied. Without them our economy fails, hospitals can’t function, and our basic needs become increasingly difficult to meet. Let’s put them in proper perspective. If you know a professional driver, show them your appreciation. And always be courteous on the roads, they have a tough job. If you have it, it’s because a truck brought it.

We’re so shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of our Sheriff, Eddie Tester. We’re so thankful for all he and JCSD have done for us and our thoughts and prayers are with the men and women of the department, his family, and our community.

Our driver was denied restroom access at a Target distribution center yesterday, which is common practice for that company. Let’s keep that in mind when we choose where we shop and remember that if it weren’t for men and women willing to work as professional truck drivers...WE WOULD STARVE. Literally speaking, food, medical, and gas supplies would run out in a matter of days without trucks and drivers. Target would close its doors. But, the drivers who deliver the goods they sell, can’t use their restroom.

Clay Souder Trucking, Inc., based in Mountain City, Tn, is seeking an experienced, full-time, professional solo driver.

Our ideal applicant will:
* hold a Class A CDL
* have 3+ years verifiable experience driving long haul tractor-trailers, pulling 53’ reefer/dry vans in all conditions
* have a current DOT Medical Certification
* have a clean driving record and no DUI/DWI convictions
* be able to comply with random drug/alcohol testing requirements
* be self-motivated, have good time-management and communication skills
* be familiar with operating e-logs and working within federal regulations
* be comfortable using app based technology
* have some mechanical skills
* provide excellent references

In addition, the position requires:
* driving/working in all types of weather conditions
* at times, light mechanical work, lifting, bending, etc.
* knowledge of and responsibility to meet all DOT/FMCSA regulations/requirements
* organizing, completing, maintaining paperwork
* professionalism in interactions
*ensuring refrigerated load temps are properly maintained

EQUIPMENT
We offer CLEAN, well-maintained equipment. Our drivers enjoy driving both older model “old school” Pete’s / newer model Freightliner, all manual transmission, non-DEF.

COMPENSATION
We offer:
* above industry-average pay
* accessorial pay
* bonus potential
* workman’s comp insurance
* flexibility in scheduling and routing
* generally, no-touch freight
* No California, no NYC loads
