Regional Transit Authority Welcome to New Orleans RTA! We provide safe, efficient public transit to the New Orleans region.

The Regional Transit Authority operates buses, streetcars, ferries, and Paratransit in the New Orleans area. Our mission is to provide safe, dependable, efficient transit services to the residents of and visitors to the greater New Orleans region, through investment in infrastructure and service to expand access to opportunities, to build a more resilient community, and to protect the cultural, social, and economic well being of our community through mobility. Our vision is to become the region’s preferred mobility provider by building a transportation network focused on equitable service delivery, regional connectivity, and a forward-looking emphasis on the customer experience. Whether you’re headed to work or to watch a second line, RTA’s got you covered. Today (October 18), at 1:00 p.m., the Men & Ladies of Class second line is happening, and that means lots of activity near the route that may affect your ride (or your drive).

Lines Affected: 12, 27, 51, 52, & 57.

Remember that, because second lines have a rhythm of their own, routes and end points can—and do—shift in real-time. Expect delays and detours throughout the event. Congratulations to Darwin Griffin and Korrie Mapp from the RTA Safety Department who recently served as co-presenters on a session panel alongside three distinguished industry colleagues at the 2026 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) TRANSform Conference in Chicago on October 5th, delivering a strong showing for RTA on an industry stage.

Darwin and Korrie were hand-picked by APTA to present their perspectives in a session entitled, “Advanced Technologies and the Workforce: Strategies, Roadmaps, and Successes,” where they highlighted strategies for integrating emerging technologies while effectively preparing the transit workforce.

We are proud of the team for their accomplishments and thankful to APTA for the opportunity to join this important discussion.
