We love complexity

I'm not sure if y'all heard the news, but AI is THE topic right now. I do wonder, though, about our data and the privacy we've had for millennia that is quickly disappearing.

Before the internet, an old newspaper story about someone existed in an archive, but it took effort to find. Now the past, for many of us, is here to stay, no matter how many decades pass.

Should humans have:
Temporary privacy while we're alive?
Proportional memory over time, so old news should fade?
A right to digitally disappear after death, if one chooses it?

Generative AI is another wrinkle. Now the question isn't only how to escape the past. How does one escape something that never happened? Turns out I was never an Admiral on the Enterprise. That was fake news (for now 🖖). I know everyone feels let down to discover that.

The slides take us on a short trip. Where would you draw the line? Where will we draw the line?

It’s the end of , and in the world of logistics, the conversation has moved beyond "What if?" to "What’s next?"

Logismith runs on the belief that logistics is never boring, and AI is certainly making it more interesting each day. But as we design and manage complex ecosystems while embracing new tech, the most important lesson we’ve learned is that AI is a powerful tool – it’s not a magic wand.

The benefits of integrating AI into your workflows are clear:

- Improved operational visibility
- Automation of repetitive tasks
- Enables faster, data-driven decision making

It’s also important to highlight the ethical responsibility of AI use. For us, it isn’t just about efficiency. It’s about how decisions are made, and who remains accountable for them.

Every decision influenced by AI must remain explainable, grounded in reliable data, and owned by people, not systems. We’re intentional about how data is used, where boundaries are drawn, and how sensitive information is protected across environments.

It’s worth asking: just because we can, should we? The sooner we embrace and incorporate those ethical elements, the more effectively we can use AI.

The bottom line? AI is an engine to help power the way forward, but human judgment is the steering wheel. At Logismith, just implementing tech isn’t enough. We strive to be responsible stewards of it.
