This October our team has launched the process of migrating its operations to the new Promptly Platform that combines three systems within itself - Warehouse Management System (WMS), Inventory Management System (IMS) and Order Management System (OMS) as part of its infrastructure.

One of the primary objectives set during the development stage of the building the Platform was to streamline and bring transparency to the receiving process at Promptly’s facility and eliminate any possible errors related to identifying products being delivered and unloaded in new orders. To accomplish this, we’ve introduced the WRO (Warehouse Receiving Orders) workflow. This allows Promptly's system to generate a single unique label with Promptly's QR code for each case that is being shipped to Promptly’s Fulfillment Facility before it is even shipped.

Onboarding our current clients and their teams as part of the migration phase onto the new platform is one of the key operational tasks of all our teams at the moment. Based on our timeline, the deadline for the process of migrating all operations with our current clients is set by Q4 of 2021.

The primary objective of this transition is to increase the level of automation within our operations and bring true transparency to our customers throughout all processing zones and order fulfillment stages - from receiving products at one of Promptly's facilities to the moment that they are shipped out by our team.

Our team was invited to speak to a class of New York MBA students led by adjunct professor Martin Behr about current trends in e-commerce, COVID-19’s impact on its various market segments and shifts taking place in business strategies within each one.

Martin Ken Behr is a customs and international trade lawyer admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of International Trade and a licensed U.S. Customs Broker.

Martin is a former special agent with the U.S. Department of Defense, assistant prosecutor with the Office of the Hudson County (NJ) Prosecutor, and executive with a global FMC-licensed Ocean Transportation Intermediary.

He has worked as a U.S. Customs officer (senior inspector and import specialist), who was stationed at land, air and sea ports of entry. While with U.S. Customs at the Port of New York/Newark, he was a member of the agency's export control branch.

What you will do
- Load and unload deliveries and shipment of all products and supplies
- Sort, count and visually inspect pallets and cases during receiving and report to the Team Lead
- Examine outbound shipments to ensure that they meet routing requirements
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged cases and report shortages to the Team Lead
- Build pallets, accurately label cases on them following set procedures and carrier requirements
- Move and store pallets across various facility zones
- Assist the pick & pack team by moving staged orders to the loading dock for carrier pickups
- Adhere to all the safety measures and abide to follow the rules and regulations at the
workplace
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area
- Perform other duties as assigned

About you
- Prior warehouse or fulfillment facility operations related experience is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without restriction
- Ability to stand and walk continuously during and up to an 8 hour shift
- Demonstrate high attention to detail
- Be diligent, punctual and able to follow daily schedules
- Consistently arrive for work on time
- Have prior experience in handling manual pallet jacks and other essential tools and equipment

Our US East Coast team is working closer than ever with all shipping carriers in order to make sure that all orders being shipped out and shipments being delivered to our facility get in and out on time without any delays. This is why as of last week additional docks with a separate team started operating dedicated solely for working with shipping carriers USPS, UPS and FedEx. Now, shipping and receiving has never been easier for everyone working with Promptly US - for shipping carriers, our partners and of course our loyal customers.

- Extremely detail-oriented and attentive
