NY Post: The LIRR Strike could cost the state up to $61 million in lost economic activity each day, according to a state comptroller’s report.

“A LIRR strike will be felt far beyond the tracks, triggering the loss of millions of dollars per day in lost economic activity, disrupting thousands of riders and throwing the region’s transit service into chaos and gridlock,” Comptroller Tom DiNapoli warned in a statement a day before the strike began.

If The LIRR Strike Continues on Tuesday, May 19, The MTA “Urges” Those Coming From Long Island to The Knicks VS Cavaliers Game to Use The NICE Bus System or The 7 Train.

MTA: “The contingency plans are the same ones we've been talking about to everyday commuters, which is use the Nassau County bus system to connect to the Subway”.

“There's a ton of NICE bus, the Nassau County bus system routes that connect to Subway stations, so that is a very viable option, and we urge people to consider that”.

“You can also drive to Willets Point by Citi Field and park there, it's relatively inexpensive, and get on the No. 7 train there, so there are options”.
