Royal Caribbean has posted when they will release their May 2026-early 2027 sailings. Booking early is normally the best way to save money. Prices increase as cabins fill up. I can also reprice if the price goes down before you pay in full. You just have to pay a deposit when you book (normally $250 per person) and then you have until 90 days before your cruise to pay off the rest.

I thought I hated cruises until I sailed on Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas for the first time. The ship was absolutely massive and my family had so many entertainment and food options. I loved not having to worry about what to eat for dinner, and we never felt bored.

Day 7: An almost Perfect Day at Coco Cay

Today we were docked at Royal’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at Coco Cay. We had breakfast at Surfside Eatery and made our way to the island.

We started off our time at Splashaway Bay. This is a complementary area with a splash pad and waterslides for kids. Arwyn went on the waterslides and then both of them played in the splash pad. A wild rooster kept Brian and I entertained.

Next, we went to the Oasis Lagoon. It is the largest fresh water pool in the Caribbean. We swam around looking for lizards. Then we got out to get a snack at the snack shack. I got some funnel cake. We ate on the way back to the ship as it was getting very windy and we could tell that it was going to storm.

Back on the ship, we went to the Aquadome market, where we ate lunch and watched the thunderstorm out the window. After that we found a seat to read. We stopped at the carousel and the girls went around several times, so that they had ridden each of the different seats.

The storm had passed and the gangway was opened back up. We spent some time on Chill Island floating in the ocean and jumping the waves. We stopped at the island market on the way back to the ship.

We all prepped for dinner and had our last dinner in the Main Dining Room. It was hard saying goodbye to our servers. After dinner, we packed up.

Next we went to the ice show. This was amazing. The ice skaters are so talented, and Viktor Kee from America’s Got Talent danced and juggled in the show. The projections and outfits made the show so magical.

After the ice show, we did some of the activities on the ship that we had not gotten to the rest of the week. We played mini-golf and table tennis. Before getting some desert and heading back to the room.

After putting the girls to bed, Brian and I went to the Adult Comedy show and then stopped by the casino to spend our $4 freeplay that we get for being Platinum members.

It was another great day, even if the weather was not completely perfect at Coco Cay.

Day 6: A Sea Day

Today was a sea day. We had a relaxing day on the ship. We started off with breakfast in the main dining room.

After breakfast we went to see a Q&A with the some of the cast of the shows, directors on the ship, and Rover’s handler. We learned some interesting facts about their contracts (most have 10 month contracts, Rover’s is for 5 years), and some of the behind the scenes things.

Then the girls went for a ride on the carousel. We got a snack from the Aquadome market and played a game in the room.

Next, we went to Crown’s Edge (You can sign up for a time slot for an additional fee). It is a ropes course/zip line that goes out over the edge of the ship. Brian and Evey did the activity while Arwyn and I watched on and took pictures/video.

After that we went to lunch at El Loco Fresh, another complimentary restaurant on board). There they have quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and you can make your own tacos.

We then went to see a family show at the ice rink. The ice skaters are amazing. We got some soft serve ice cream and went to play a game in the room before dinner in the Main Dining Room (formal night).

After dinner, we went to a family magic show. The magic show was performed by the Cruise Director and Admiral Awesome (children’s entertainer for the ship). They had both been doing magic for over 20 years. They included the crowd and included a lot of comedy. It was a good show.

The girls requested that we go back to Dueling Pianos, so we ended the night singing along at the piano bar. The piano players there are excellent. One of them has a Guiness World Record for playing 14,000 songs straight without repeating a single song.

We then returned to the room to sleep and get ready for a Perfect Day at Coco Cay.

Day 5: Cozumel

I woke up and watched us pulling into Cozumel from the balcony. Then we went to breakfast at Surfside Eatery again. We stopped at the Arcade to play a couple games of Air Hokey.

We had an early excursion, so we got ready and headed off the ship. We signed in for the excursion and had a few minutes to look around the many shops at the port.

Once our excursion started they brought us to a taxi, that took us on a quick 10 minute drive to Chankanaab Park. At the park we had a dolphin encounter. The dolphin danced with each of us and gave us a kiss. The trainer and our dolphin, Louis, also demonstrated different facts about the dolphins (sounds they make and how they swim).

After the dolphin encounter we were able to get in an area with manatees and pet them. The trainers told us some interesting facts about the manatees.

It was then time for lunch. It was a buffet style lunch with unlimited drinks. The food wasn’t the best, but we didn’t mind since it was all included in the ticket price. After lunch we walked around a little bit and then there was a sea lion show. They introduced us to the two sea lions that live there and they did some tricks. We then went back to the port and did some shopping before getting back on the ship.

Once on the ship we went to the Cloud 17 pool to cool off. Then we all went back to the room to get ready for dinner. It was Mexican Night in the Main Dining Room.

After dinner, the girls went on another carousel ride and the girls got soft serve ice cream. We went to see the rock band Phoniex, but Arwyn feel asleep in my lap. I took the girls back to the room, while Brian enjoyed some more music.

Another amazing day, and we are sad that we are getting closer and closer to the end of our trip.

Day 4: Costa Maya

After waking up and watching the ship pull into port from our balcony, we headed to Surfside Eatery for another quiet breakfast. We then went back to the room and got ready to explore the port.

We did not buy any excursions for Costa Maya, but saw online that there was an Aviary right at port. We went to the Aviary and it did not disappoint. We walked over bridges into different bird habitats. It was really cool seeing some birds that we have never seen before so close up. The walk also gave us great views of the port, of our ship, and of the dolphins at the dolphin excursion. After walking through the aviary we did some shopping, got a fruit drink, spotted a lizard and then went back to the ship.

On the ship, we had lunch at the Windjammer. Then we tried out a different pool, the Grove. It was not as deep as the other pools, but the children had fun sitting on the bottom and taking pictures of each other. We stopped at Sprinkles for soft served ice cream before going back to the room.

After stopping at the room, Brian went to the Overlook to do some reading. Evey read in our room while Arwyn and I ended up taking a nap.

Before boarding Brian reserved us an hour in the private karaoke studio (It was about $30) They had a tablet to choose the songs, a big screen tv for the lyrics and two microphones. We played some Disney songs and Brian and I sang some of our favorite songs from back in the day and Arwyn enjoyed singing along to any song we put on. She really rocked out to Linkin Park.

We then got ready for dinner at the main dining room. It was Caribbean night. During dinner they had all the wait staff come out to dance. We danced to a couple songs including the Macarena.

After dinner, we went to the Royal Theater and saw the juggler/comedian Adam Kario. He was hilarious.

We then went to Surfside for Arwyn’s nightly carousel ride and some more soft serve ice cream. Then we headed up to Dueling Pianos, where two talented piano players played, sang, and interacted with the crowd. It was a great show.

After the show, we stopped and Brian and I got some pizza at Sorento’s and Evey got a dessert at the Pearl Cafe before heading back to the room and to bed.

Another wonderful day!

We signed up for the Semi-Sub Glass Bottom Boat and Monkey and Sloth Park excursion through Royal Caribbean while stopped in Roatan, Honduras.

We got to our meeting place about 15 minutes early and they ushered us onto an air conditioned bus. On the bus they gave us some money from Honduras. Each person got a 5 cent coin and each couple and each child got a bill (worth less than a penny in us money, but a cool souviner).

Our first stop was at a small market. We got to taste samples of the chocolate made there.

On our way to the sloth park one of the other guests asked what the fruit was that people were selling on the side of the road. The tour guide had the driver stop so that they could buy us a bag of the fruit. She explained how to eat it and we all got to sample some.

At the Monkey and Sloth park, we each got to hold a sloth, and we could take as many pictures as we wanted. Then we went to see the national bird, the Red Scarlet Macaw. Evey and I had the bird eat from our heads, while a bird jumped right onto Brian’s head. Then the whole group got into a cage with two monkeys. The monkeys jumped from person to person. The monkey tried stealing my glasses, and took a picture on my phone.

After the Sloth and Monkey Park, we continued our ride to another part of the island. During the whole bus trip the tour guide gave us information about the island.

For our next stop we got on a glass bottom boat. The boat ride was excellent. We went to the lower level and were completely submersed under water. Everyone got their own seat with windows on both sides. They brought us out over the reef and explained what we were seeing.

Once back on land the bus took us back to the port, where we did a little shopping before getting back on the ship.

This was one of our favorite excursions so far, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone stopping in Roatan, Hondurus!

Day 3: Roatan, Honduras

We started our day with breakfast at the Surfside Eatery. It is a smaller complementary buffet. We found the food to be good and the place was less crowded than the Windjammer.

Since our excursion was not until 11:45, we decided to take advantage or the quiet pool decks. Evey and Brian went on all 6 of the water slides while Arwyn and I hung out in the Royal Pool. Then we had lunch at the Aquadome Market.

After lunch we left the ship to visit Roatan. We walked around the port, and then went on our excursion (I will post another post about this).
When we got back to the ship we had to stop at Sprinkles for some soft serve ice cream before heading back to our room to get ready for dinner.

For dinner in the main dining room it was Italian night and the food was excellent. After dinner, we went to Surfside. Arwyn and I went for a ride on the carousel, while Brian and Evey went to the Arcade.

We had reservations for the show, Aqua Action. It was astonshing with so much talent on stage! The show had acrobats, a hand balancer/contortionist, dancers, divers, skateboarders, synchronized swimmers, slackliners, and robots. Really amazing!

After that Brian got some pizza from Sorentos and we went to bed.

A fantastic day with so many new experiences!

Day 2:

One of my favorite parts of the cruise is watching the sunrise from our balcony. It is such a relaxing way to start the day.

We then went to the Windjammer for a buffet breakfast. After that we found a cozy spot with a view of the water to sit down and read. We went to the arcade and the girls played a few games (pay per game). After the arcade we got some donuts from Surfside Eatery.

Next, we went to the Aquadome and played a card game while we waited for the Top Tier Event to start. While we were waiting we were able to see Rover. Rover is the resident dog, and like a star, on Icon.

To be invited to the Top Tier event you have to be a Platinum loyalty member or above. They welcome you to the event with free champagne, fruit punch, or a mimosa. During the event we got to see a preview of the slackliners, meet the Captain, and the top 3 cruisers get recognized.

We stopped at Surfside and the girls went on the carousel and we got some churro bites. After that we went and got ready for our specialty dining (extra fee, but Brian got a discount online before hand) at Izumi. We had Hibachi. It was very entertaining.

After lunch, we went to see Wizard of Oz. It was an amazing performance. The cast was spectacular and the set and effects were astonishing.

We had another amazing dinner in the Main Dining room. You have the same waiters every night. Ours are excellent and bring us extra cheese rolls.

We love the pools/waterslides, but they can get crowded during the day. Our secret, go to the pool after an early dinner. We went on the waterslides and enjoyed some time watching the sunset from the Cloud 17 pool with very few people there.

After swimming, we went to the Who Wants To Be A Caribbeanaire game show. Stopping of course for some soft serve ice cream on the way. It was fun to watch. We stopped to get pizza and cupcakes on the way back to the room and ate them on the balcony before going to bed.

Another amazing day at sea!
