Our brutally honest review of the viral volcano hike👇

We hiked for 14 hours carrying 30lb backpacks in less than a 24 hour span with 40% less oxygen than we’re used to 🥵

We felt the ground shake every 15 minutes as the Volcán Fuego erupted next to us 🌋

We sat at a table crowded with strangers from all over the world we just met and ate with dirt under our fingertips 🍝

We slept on the side of a volcano in a cabin with 1” walls and bunk beds ⛺️

Our hearts were beating out of our chest and we heard every fart, cough and sniffle from the 5 other people we were bunked up in a cabin with 😴

All this is to say….

This was the single best hiking experience of our entire lives 😂🙌

We finally checked Volcán Acatenango off of our Guatemala bucket list! We booked with and can honestly say it was one of the coolest things we’ve ever done ✅

4 years ago, we rented our first campervan with some money we had in our savings, packed a few t-shirts into a suitcase, and drove up the Pacific Coast for what we thought was a one time adventure 🚐

We didn’t know that trip would change every decision we made for the next 4 years.

We didn’t know we’d start a travel page, see 30+ countries, get married, and end up here, today, in OUR campervan, on the same exact stretch of coast, recreating photos we took as 26 year olds with no idea what was coming.

If 26 year old us could see this, we wouldn’t believe it. And if you’re sitting where they were, wondering if the dream is even possible, this is your sign 🤍
