Diane Belgrod, K Belo Designer and Founder, loved the vintage bikinis she collected over the years at thrift stores and rummage sales in Long Island, New York. But sadly they were slowly falling apart and in constant need of repair. Frustrated by endless searches for new bathing suits that replicated the style and feel of a vintage piece, she went about forming her own line of swimwear in 2008. Di
ane grew up on the South Shore of Long Island where summers spent on the beach with her entire family were the mainstay. She would spend all year waiting for summer, with her favorite bikinis restored and ready. They were perfect and well worn, and the look and fit were amazing. Diane, always a lover of design, finally realized it was the right time to create K Belo, her own line of swimwear, reminiscent of her favorite classic looks with a modern feel. K Belo is inspired by Diane's love of summers on Long Island and the quality craftsmanship and fabric from Brazil, the mecca of bikinis. The gorgeous Brazilian fabric has a body-hugging quality that smooths the form and makes women feel beautiful and confident. Wanting to create the highest quality products, and being committed to local manufacturing, Diane sources fabric from Brazil and all production is completed in a small factory near her hometown on Long Island, New York. The most important thing to Diane is that women love their K Belo swimwear. Her dream is for each piece to be surfed in, swam in, caked with sand, washed by waves and worn with love.
