📚💜 Beauty And A Book Retreat & Beauty And A Book Box

We’re excited to announce as an official Swag Bag Sponsor for Black Romance Book Fest 2027!

Founded by Nisha, an educator and avid reader, Beauty and a Book Retreat began as a virtual book club in 2017 before growing into a subscription box company and bookish retreat brand.

Their offerings range from free virtual events to paid subscriptions, and since 2022, their bookstore tour has supported independent bookstores throughout New York City. For Beauty and a Book Retreat, the love of reading goes beyond leisure. Literacy is a necessity.

Thank you to Beauty and a Book Retreat for sponsoring Black Romance Book Fest. We are beyond grateful for your support in making BRBF 2027 an unforgettable experience.

Join us on Sunday, September 6th at 5:30 pm EST for a bookish discussion with author/poet, Dayanara Garcia.

“Drawing from her lived experience with vitiligo, an autoimmune condition affecting skin pigmentation, Garcia explores the emotional and physical impact of the condition and the stages she navigated: disbelief, embarrassment, anger, and frustration, beforearriving at learning, acceptance, and self-love.

Grounded in her background as an English educator, literary scholar, and educational leader, she shares how poetry became a powerful tool for healing and empowerment. Through original bilingual poetry and reflection, readers are invited into a labyrinth of self-expression that honors vulnerability, celebrates imperfection, and amplifies voice. While centered on vitiligo, this poetic journey speaks to anyone navigating identity, difference, and the transformative powerof language.”
