FYI: 2023 Property Tax Relief Grant

On March 13, 2023, Governor Brian Kemp signed HB 18, granting a one-time property tax relief grant to all homestead owners in the state of Georgia.

Through the grant, qualified homestead property owners in Coweta County will receive an $18,000 property exemption. The credit will apply after all other state and local homestead exemptions.

The tax credit will NOT be reflected on the notice of assessments which were mailed out to property owners on June 16. The credit WILL be shown on the property tax bill as a credit. Property tax bills will be mailed out on October 1.

Please note, this is a one-time tax credit from the state of Georgia, therefore future property tax bills will not reflect this credit unless it is extended additional years by the Governor.
