After plenty of planning and a lot of patience, we are excited to finally introduce our next model railway project — March TMD: Reborn in Miniature.
Inspired by the real-life traction maintenance depot, this layout will bring the atmosphere of the busy diesel depot back to life in model form. Set in the transitional years of the mid 80s to early 90s. From weathered locomotives and detailed servicing areas to the everyday workings behind the scenes, the aim is to capture the character and grit of a working TMD as authentically as possible.
The layout will be approximate 18 ft long x 14 ft deep in an L shaped configuration, designed to include both the iconic viewpoints from 100 Ft Road and Norwood Road Bridge. The arrangement will prioritise natural sightlines, scenic depth, and smooth transitions between scenes and will in capture the exposed open feel of the area.
If you love the look, sound, and soul of British Rail in its final unified years, you’re in the right place.
Step inside and follow March TMD; reborn in miniature come alive, one detail at a time.
