Well, where to start🤷 I know it has been awhile since we have posted, as family and work has been super busy. This is a long one, but lots has happened😂

First off, Congrats to our beautiful daughter on the birth of our very first Grand Baby Friday morning! Her due date was Saturday May 23rd.... We can't wait to spoil little Hudson!

With that being said, it made Memorial Day Racing plans difficult.

Option 1
We wanted to run at The Motorplex at the Mill. Going into this weekend at the Mill, we was leading points in the Modified and the Late Model race was anticipated to be the largest race of the Mills season.

Option 2
We wanted to run the ARCA West car at CNS, as we definitely had a great year there last year in the Modified and wanted to see if we could make it happen in the ARCA car. As many of you know, even owning one of those cars, it is diffently a large financial commitment to make, along with the logistics of getting the crew there with the car, as many of the crew for that car live in Las Vegas. On top of that, getting the car to that track when needed wasn't feasible while we was on baby watch....

What to do, what to do...

After talking with the ARCA Series, we wanted to make sure the 66 Car was at CNS. I knew it wasn't going to work for me to be there and drive the car, so a plan started to see who might be a good fit to run the car. It was an obvious choose for us if we could put everything together, so that is when Cade Fox was asked to run the 66 car. We obviously are not a rent a ride team, but that kid proved to us that he needed an opportunity. Fortunately for all party's involved, the Fox family was able to come up with enough resources to make it happen. Thank You Grease Monkey and all the other Cade Fox sponsors and the private individuals that donated resources and their time. After that we got Crew Chief Chris Bray along with Payton Saxton on board. I couldn't be more proud of what Cade, Chris, Payton, and everybody else involved did! Cade took to the ARCA car like a natural. They unloaded fast right off the trailer, and Cade showed everyone there why he needs more opportunities. Cade finished practice in the top five on times while never being in an ARCA before. Qualifying came around and the team locked down P6. Then when the race rolled around, nothing phased the kid. He rode around keeping the car in one piece, not abusing what he had, and made it to the half way break on the lead lap and in the top ten. Chris and Payton made an awesome adjustment on the car at the break, and when the race got going again the kid went to work. Cade meticulously picked off positions one at a time, getting the 66 car up to the 3rd finishing position by the end of the race! Pretty freaking awesome day, and we are SUPER Proud of Cade! The kid just did that in a non-fulltime ARCA car as this car comes from WIT Racing which has Zero full time employees, no back east connections, and very limited ARCA knowledge. Yes, Cade did it with Chris and Payton who obviously are studs, along with a lot of CNS locals, but this kid just showed out! All of this on just his 17th birthday. It was a pretty cool thing watching all 10,000+ fans sing him happy birthday after his stellar ARCA debut. Great job kid, and we hope we can help get you some more opportunities!

We did make it to Motorplex at the Mill to compete, but only because of our awesome team. Thank you Justin and Nicole Westmoreland for flying us out to the track. Thank you Lynn Hardy and Trevor Westmoreland for driving our rig to the track. Thank you Will, Nichole, Justice, and Amanda for bring the Latemodel to the track... Couldn't have made any of this possible without everyone of you. We got to the track 10 minutes before drivers meeting, and it was just the start to a super busy day.

Modified
Qualified P3
Main Event P1
We had an awesome Modified all day. The thing was an absolute blast to drive. We started the race in the third position, and tried to get to the lead in the early stages of the race. Once we got the lead we tried to set sail, but with roughly 10-15 laps to go unfortunately one of our competitors lost an engine right in front of us. I spun in his oil trying to avoid, and luckily didn't make any contact with anything and got the lead back. At the drop of the green we had a good battle with DC40, but ultimately was able to get the win.

Pro Late
Qualified P3
Main Event P3
We took the green flag in P3 to start the 125 lap race. We had some good battles and did end up making our way to the lead. While leading, unfortunately we was lapping a car and that driver decided to turn down into us and ultimately spinning himself out across our front fender and nose. The rule is if you are involved, you will go to the back.... so that sent us to the back with a torn up race car. We took the restart last, and unfortunately had some mechanical grimmlins after that. I am not sure yet if it is a fuel or spark problem, but anytime we had a restart the car wouldn't run until we got about 6 laps into the run... We did have some long green flag runs, and we was able to get back up to the third position. There where some intense battles with some of our competitors while making our way back up front, and it definitely got a little more Western then I like🤦. With that being said congrats to Zach on his big win.

There are so many people to thank for making this weekend work for all 3 cars, 2 different drivers, in 2 different states. I don't have everyone listed, but thanks again for all involved. Thank you to the tracks, the officials, the competitors, and the fans!

Heck of a run by Cade, we are so excited for this kid! Not an awful night for us at the Mill. The 66 cars showed out this weekend.

Well... Friday nights practice ended in turn 1 taking the green flag. The rear brakes had an issue and unfortunately we went into the wall. Eric is good we weren't going that fast thank goodness!

Car not so much...

Thanks to the awesome guys at Phill's Phab! Chris reached out to us Friday night after we left the track and before you knew it... the Phils Phab guys, Doug Hamm, and my crew was pulling the motor and trans out of our hurt car. We got everything torn down by midnight, but had to wait until morning to get Chris's car out of storage😂. We got our motor in their car about 45 minutes before practice Saturday. Luckily we got s session of practice in so we could shake it down because we found a power steering line we didn't tighten up leaking all over🤦. Second session consisted of 5 laps to see what the car could do, and then the mad dash to change tires and scuff a set for qualifying. The driver wasn't quite up to the cars standards, and we missed the top 5 qualifying, but it did put us in the trophy dash.

In the trophy dash, we was able to have a fun battle with Kylee Barker Peterson and ended up taking the win!

In the main, Eric convinced the Phils Phab crew to make an adjustment to the car....and Eric regretted that big time after lap 5. We started 6th and made our way up to 4th, but we freed up the car too much to make a challenge at anything better than that. Congrats to the Jack's brothers on another 1-2 finish. Great run Hamm, and thanks again for the help. Great job to all the competitors on another Green, white, checkered day! Thanks to LVMS Bullring, we appreciate all of you that make it possible to come play!

Once again, THANKS Phils Phab, Chris, and Jaron. After Friday's lap one, Eric was pretty down and out. We appreciate the opportunity to run your Hot Rod!

Thank you to our Guys Dan Morbach & Trevor Westmoreland we couldn't have raced this weekend without to you two!💪

Now to get ready for the next race 🏁

Going to get in some Friday night practice.
