Trying to decide between staying at a Disney resort or renting a vacation home for your next Disney trip? 🏰🏡

Both options have their advantages, and the “best” choice really depends on what matters most to your family...which can change trip to trip. And remember, it's not always about price. 👀

A Disney resort may be the perfect fit if you value convenience, Disney theming, on-site transportation, and being immersed in the magic.

A vacation home may be a better fit if you’re looking for more space, privacy, multiple bedrooms, a kitchen, and room for everyone to spread out.

I put together this carousel to break down some of the biggest differences to help you decide which option makes the most sense for your trip.

A month in an Airbnb taught me a lot. 😂 Here are 5 things that somewhat surprised me and my family:

📍Location matters - it's not just about how convenient it is to the places you plan to visit but also the convenience to the things you need like urgent care, grocery stores you like, Costco, pizza delivery, etc.

🍳Missing my appliances - I'm way more efficient in the kitchen at home because I know the quirks and ways to best use what I have. It's one thing to get used to a new microwave but to get used to ALL the appliances at once and feed your family, yikes.

🛁 Capacity versus functional capacity - for example, if the house sleeps 12 but the dining room table has 6 seats, then you aren't having full family meals together. What worked really well in this house is that each bedroom had it's own bathroom which is very functional for a larger group of people.

🍴The little things - it's one thing to pack up a suitcase for a vacation but it's another thing to pack up your life for a month. So naturally you are going to forget (intentionally) to bring some of the little things. This rental home didn't have any spatulas and I realized I can't function in the kitchen without them! Hello Amazon.

🧐 Need to simplify by life - I quickly realized that I should purge quite a bit from my home. I can easily live without wanting for more with what I brought with. So do I really need all the stuff in my basement back home? Do I really need 10 pair of shoes? So now I have a September project - purge!
